I have recently just decided to give trying to make my own custom map a go, but I have no idea how to find people to help with it or anything. I am sorry if this is out of section.

Depends on what you mean by help.

If you want someone to co-develop a map/mod with you then you'll have to ask around on Chat or the alike.

If you want someone to help with questions you can research on YouTube (for mapping BlackjackJohnny, for scripting, none really, for animating; weapons, rollonmath42/elfenlied, for asset creation, none really).
