Help! Need to Fix Issues with (Drops/Mystery Box/Textures/Explosions)

On my custom map, none of the zombies drop any items at all. I don't know why. Any possible cause for this that I may need to fix? Perhaps there is something I need to set or add in the Radiant?

The mystery box also doesn't give you a Ray Gun, even though the Ray Gun texture can be seen in the box while cycling. Is there a way to get the Ray Gun to appear?

My pack-a-punch'd weapons, as well as most textures on items in the map have this weird red color on it. When weapons get pack-a-punch'd, they're 100% solid red. They're all the same color and look very bland. How would one fix this?

I added a few barrels in my map that explode, but when I shoot them, none explode. They just disappear. :(

I'm currently working on my first map, which is simply an extremely long hallway with loads of obstacles called "Hell's Hallway," and it's based on a hallway from an actual haunted psychiatric hospital that has been shutdown for more than 40 years where I live, and it once housed a deadly child killer by the name of Cropsy.

for drops you need to place a "trigger_multiple" with a "targetname" of "playable_area" covering everywhere where you want drops to appear

raygun wont come out of the box until you have gotten the teddy once(yep you need more than 1 box thats how der rise scripts work)

add a reflection probe in your map at a reasonable height, but dont add to many cause they increase the image count

o think you're missing the exploding barrel fx. :)

Drops have nothing to do with scripting. In radiant, in your 2d view(left hand side) right click and choose trigger,trigger_multiple, then press N on your keyboard for the key enter "targetname" no quotations, value enter "playable_area" no quotations and make sure it is covering the entire area where you want the drops to spawn at. You can place multiple of these wherever you want, it is not a good idea to make the trigger multiple cover past zombie barriers though

It usually means that the pathnodes are touching each other. Make sure none are on top of each other, or too close to each other. Sometimes I accidently press space bar to copy it 2 times meaning it makes 2 copies without me knowing about it and it results in that error since they are right on top of each other

on occasion while copy pasting path nodes ive ended up with two in exactly the same place in error (which obviously i couldnt see lol)

Try to check that you dont do that, I think if you right click the node itll show you what textures or models occupy that one spot so you can see if there is two in one place. Itll say like

opaque
opaque

at the top of the drop down it spawns if there are two nodes there

in radiant top bar go to misc > go to position; then paste there the coordinates you get while compiling to know wheres the loosy node.

Thanks a lot, guys. Appreciate all the help you've been giving me so far. I'm sorta diving head first into this without instruction outside of a few YouTube videos here and there, but being told specifics for what I personally need or want when I have difficulty searching for it is really great.

I just made an extension to my map with another hallway, and learning how to cut the wall took me FOREVER, but I kinda-sorta get it now. Hopefully soon I'll be faster at doing it so I can get more work done. For what little I have, I've been working many days on it so far, just to learn and get an idea. It's gonna be a simple first draft map just to learn all the basics and must-knows.

I have another question though. That hole in the wall I added... how do I put a door in front of it and make it cost something?  I want to be able to unlock the door with points. I also wanna know where I can find a texture of a door to use because I honestly can't seem to find any. Once I can figure out the door issue, I think I'm okay to expand and build a full map on my own for the most part. To me, for what I want to do, it's my missing piece of the puzzle. I tried looking for video tutorials on YouTube for buying doors but all I saw were people adding random objects like tanks in the xmodels folder and stuff. Help?

Trying to figure out how to add a buyable door by that second hallway. I haven't found the right information yet, but I plan on making this a bigger map with many other hallways with a maze-like obstacle like in the starting room. I'm of course going to decorate the map when I'm done with everything important to make it prettier, and I'm gonna try to add an easter egg idea. But right now I just need to figure out how to get a buyable door on this thing.
