EDIT: Considering that this technically isn't a "map" idea (although co-insides with map ideas), I've decided to double post this idea here in General Discussion for consistency and publicity reasons (hopefully that's okay with the mods).


Introduction:

Welcome to the post everyone, I’ve been writing up this idea with a lot of thought, and I can assure you it’s not as profound and ridiculous as 90% of this section. Why did this take a lot of thought? Because making a sort of “Pro Circuit” to Zombies is not an easy task. Ever since about Buried’s release I’ve always wanted a sort of “competitive league” to Zombies. Grief was the first step in the right direction, but as we saw it really didn’t expand from that. That’s where the idea comes in, to build a competitive and fun structure for all the zombie purists who have like forty revives by the end of a public match. Not only that, but also cater to a more classic, simple audience for those who like to… well survive. And that's where the other half of this idea comes in… Simplicity. Looking at all the games recently put out by AAA 1st person shooter companies, you notice the creators have stretched way too far out of the meta to grab additional audience and lower skills gaps by like a million percent. Great examples would be Halo, CoD, Doom, ect. Games that were known to be so simple and 10x more competitive in their past multiplayers.

What does Zombies have to do with this you may ask? Well think of the above statement as a parallel example. Look at Zombies now. It's went from team-coordinated survival on brilliantly designed maps, to utterly linear, confusing maps that force you into quests in order to obtain simple yet necessary things to survive such as Pack-a-Punch or the map’s Wonder Weapon. So, I’d like to see if we could use this relic of a game to house what’s left of what once was an amazing round-based survival minigame. Black Ops 3 Mod Tools are on the rise, meaning W@W custom maps will be at a decline. This idea’s intentions don’t exactly fit the criteria for the future mod tools as its main mission is to spark up fans who’d like to compete or cooperate in a classic, simple environment such as where it all started, W@W.

Will this idea even go anywhere? Well, honestly I have no idea. That’s up to those who share similar ideas that have the skills to make it happen that even want to attempt. Let’s say a few of you might be interested in forming a tiny kind of “group”, and over the course of time this does become a reality. Doubles teams could be formed, Cage Matches (1v1), possibly a bracket system or an even more out there hope - a tournament or two.

Gameplay:

The mod/idea in a competitive sense is just a 1v1, 2v2, or FFA adaptation of Grief. Pretty much same rules apply:

-First team or player to out-survive their opponents wins
-Surviving players must last the rest of the round to win after all opponents are dead (If failed, the round will restart)
-Only partners of the same team can revive each other
-No shooting, knifing, or grenade knock back against enemy players (Useless and just annoying)
-Power-Ups only effect/show up for the team that obtained them
-Wonder Weapons can not be PaP’ed (Competitive rules only)

As far as play spaces, maps should be well detailed and designed. I’m talking W@W tier in this case. Maps should have no easy camping or training spots (A reasonable amount of barricades and risers). The idea is supposed to promote teamwork and strategy, so room / area control should be a team effort (It also makes barriers useful again). The rest of the post includes the necessary / ideal content and criteria to make the mod itself, and maps to go with it.

(Note - unless SP/MP battle chatter can be implemented, faction characters are mute)
-Free-For-All (3 - 4 players): 4 Heros (Random selection)

-All maps using Nazis (German themed maps) would have officers and grunts as well as the standard Honor Guards (See Das Herrenhaus for example)
