But playsound() actually doesn't either, it just notifies "sound_done" at the end or whatever, so people usually add the following to "make" it wait

Soundobject waittill( "sound_done" );
right, i was just wondering if other than knowing the actual length of the sound when using playSoundAtPosition() it was possible at all to make the current thread wait until the sound is done playing

Yea I don't think you can, i guess that's why both are here, playsound and spawning a ent sounds like your scenario, whereas the other is to play a sound, but not be able to control or reference it
