I would really like to use different player models and zombie models from other COD titles. Can anyone give a semi-detailed walkthrough for this? Also viewhands, thanks.
After porting your viewhands all you need to do is add _loadout.gsc from raw/maps to mod/maps and search for "zombiemode". You will see a long conditional statement which can be ignored, but inside the condition you will see two sets for the viewhands, likely named viewmodel_arms_american(or something like that). Change both sets in the quotes to the name of your viewhands. For players you must create a new folder in your mod called "character" and then navigate to the directory "raw/character". Inside this directory you will find these 8 files:
Copy them to the directory you created in your mod. If you open one of the .GSC files(dempsey is easiest for example), you will see that there is a function for setting the model and precaching the model. In each of the sets of quotes you want to replace the current model with the name of the model you want the players to be. Same goes for any attachments like the head, or hat. If you open the .CSV file you will see a couple of lines, some will be for xmodels. Any xmodels you are using for the character need to be included in this file with the prefix of "xmodel,".
Once you have done that you can check the files in your IWD list within launcher, build/compile and if done correctly you will see in third person the player model you chose. The process is the same for zombies using these files:
The difference is with zombies you have to account for all the gibbing pieces(when you shoot off body parts).
