My assumption is it has too many bones for waw. Like that one map that was the psp Bo map remake that had George as the boss and most of the time you'd get the over 128 bones error, maybe go into maya and delete a few? And just repaint the weights to make it hopefully not fucked up looking. But that also might cause issues for animations if they were dependent on a certain bone. The last part was all a guess as I've only made zombie models and have never done animations

I have no clue what "repaint the weights" means nor do I know what a bone is lol. Just when I feel like I am an experienced modder I get hit with this
I'd wait until someone with more experience chimes in just in case there is an easier fix than what I suggested but if you just YouTube "maya rigged model paint weights tutorial" you should find some good stuff. I had to learn from them to learn how to rig my Pokemon models and make them not look like deformed monstrosities haha

Did you use the xmodel_export lime provides or bring it into Maya, bind it and export?

Never seen this error before but from the looks of it it sounds like there are too many bones linked to one particular vertex? I'd try deleting every single bone on the model that isn't 100% necessary and try convert it again.

Can you explain what a bone is and how to delete it? I never had to go through trouble to export an xmodel before.

Bones = joints.



Just have a look at the joints on the left and see which ones are absolutely necessary and delete the ones that aren't would be my advice.

I have already tried deleting joints. All the unnecessary joints were deleted to get the anim right and the issue persists. I even tried getting rid of some I could live without like the tongue but still get the issue. I am stuck on the fact that Dave and whippy were able to port it with no issues but I can't get it right somehow

It is the MOTD dog head. I know for sure that the anims for the dog head are missing in the stuff you sent me, not sure about the models though. I really like to learn how to fix stuff though so unless I cant resolve this I am gonna avoid using someone else's stuff  :accepted: Do you remember if you had to do anything special to get yours exported proper?

I think it is worth noting that whippytrout managed to export the model in maya 8.5 with no issues at all. I am using 2012 but I cant imagine this has a single effect at all because this appears to be an engine restriction. Definitely worth a mentioning though.
well my PC was fixed anyway so if you need em just hit me up, and yes either maya export the same so that wont be it

just to confirm

i have the dog model

the dogs anims

but did not fix the AI anims ( for while they are getting eaten ) coz they were a absolute mess

i didnt need to do anything special for the model, sure you didnt drag it in twice? Or used the xmodel_export from lime by mistake?
