I can't seem to download version 1.5 of UGX Christmas.  Help?

The only reason that the Manager wouldn't let you install a map is because you are not running it as admin (right click the program and click "Run As Administrator"). If that still doesn't work, you either have really high security settings or you have an extremely weird computer setup.

I think to find the sounds, you must get them from the cod4 FF files. The last time I had to do that was a long time ago, so I don't remember exactly. Check common.ff (if it exists) for the sounds, or the ff for the map you want the gun sound from. You can use FFViewer to extract sounds.

If you just downloaded it now, we've updated the link so you should download 1.1 right away. If you had an old version, when you start the manager, it should prompt you for an update, and automatically install it for you after clicking "yes".

Okay so the 1.1 update of the app has been released - this should fix the problem where the app crashes on startup for some people, and a few other smaller things. People who were having trouble before, please test this version out and see if it fixes the problems. If it does not, report them here or PM me.

Version 1.2 should be coming out mildly soon. Unless we get any bug reports, the next version should include a new way of downloading files that could make their size much smaller for map updates. No guarantee, but I've been doing some tests and it's been working so far.  It may also include a few other fixes and/or new things added.

TO ANYONE NOT BEING ABLE TO OPEN THE MAP MANAGER:

I'm sorry, I don't know why this is happening, and it only seems to happen to some people. I updated the info on the site, and now clicking 'no' shouldn't close the program. I'm working on an update for the program (a real update!) to try to fix this bug. Till then, sorry.

Edit:

For some people getting the program crash error on startup, we have just fixed that. I tested with a person who had the error, and it worked for him - so it should work for everyone. I have to do a few more things before posting this update though.

Sorry for everyone having trouble with the Manager and maps. It's out first popularly downloaded map on the Manager, so of course we'll have some trouble. By our next release, all if not most known bugs should be fixed.

Sorry it's taking a bit longer then expected, but here is a screen shot of the updater right now. It will probably change a bit more before release though.



The list on the left shows UGX maps you don't have. (Right now its just showing bar and cabin as examples for testing.) You can also press the button below it to list all maps and versions, even if you already have them. It also shows (obviously) a picture and description of the map and version update. Clicking the download button automatically downloads and installs the map. Also, you can launch maps right from the program.
