The wiki feels fragmented and lacks explanation as to what goes together and why. How do I even get to radiant? I don't understand at all. I think I installed mod tools correctly but still the instructions didn't make too much sense to me. is there anything that sums up the whole process and what is where?

How do I even get to radiant?
By double clicking the "radiant" application in the cod folder/bin/?

I seem to need to explain this every day lol

Copy each folder of the mod tools to your root directory "in order" "one by one" and "agree" to overwriting files along the way

at teh end, copy the UGX patch over the same way ( not the ugx MOD patch, the ugx patch "for the mod tools" that is on the wiki page with these instructions )

Then go to root/bin

do this to each application

right click - properties - un tick "read only" and apply to all files and sub folders

also select them to run in "compatibility mode" for the latest XP revision or Vista

open "launcher"

run the "converter" by clicking the "converter button"

then your done. Use a script placer to create your map, and open radiant either by going to root/bin and double clicking it or hit the giant button in launcher that very clearly says "Radiant"

I tried to find to find it but I couldn't find anywhere that clearly stated that you even had to go to the bin, I couldn't find the launcher either so I'm glad I now see all the stuff in this folder. Maybe you should add it to the wiki or something to avoid getting questions all the time about it, assuming you have access to the wiki because it seems to have last been updated nearly 4 years ago

Open Launcher.exe. This file is located in root\bin.

^ Actually it does, several times infact

http://ugx-mods.com/wiki/index.php?title=Modtools_Installation_Guide

and im pretty sure your the first ive seen ask that lol

and windows explorer has a "search" bar, and "bin" folders always contain applications for anything

bin is short for binary. It generally refers to the built applications (also know as binaries) that do something for a specific system. To quote from ChrisF's answer on Stack Overflow: You usually put all the binary files for a program in the bin directory.
