You use notetracks. Within either IW's plugin or Aidan's plugin you can use their notetrack tool to specify a notetrack with a name of your choosing at a certain frame in the animation. The sound will then play when this frame of the animation is reached in game:

Once it's exported, lets say you created a notetrack called "weapon_reload". In the notetrack section of the weapon file you would specify the notetrack and the alias:

and how do i do this? i dont know how to open a xanim file in maya Post Merge: April 03, 2014, 12:29:48 amthe anims have a note track in them so is it my soundalieas file? and the sound dose work in game fire sound works perfectly
Oh, I thought you had the source. Yeah if you open the xanim file in notepad++ at the very bottom you will find the notetracks. View the BO Weapon Porting tutorial on the UGX Wiki if you want more info on that. Then you do the same thing with the weapon file as I stated above with the notetracks you found in the file.
