Hi there I have kind of an odd question about custom zombie maps. I had to uninstall COD5 several times and reinstall because it was having issues and not working right no matter what I did. I had like 150 custom maps installed in my C Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\mods folder. What I did was move my entire mods folder to my desktop and then uninstalled and reinstalled COD5. I was afraid that steam would delete all of my custom maps, that is why I did this. I dragged and dropped the mods folder back into the C Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\ folder after reinstallation and my custom maps seem to work fine. I'm using Windows 7 btw.

I know some of the older maps basically are zipped up folders with the map name, with all of the files for the custom map inside that folder and you just drag and drop that folder into the mods folder and then it shows up and you can load it as a custom map. I also have installed custom maps from executables and the UGX mod manager which I asssume basically just creates a folder for the custom map inside the mods folder and then unzips all of the map contents into it's respective folder inside of the mods folder. The executable/UGX mod manager route is easier to manage.

My question is this, are the vast majority of custom maps (old school maps with zipped up folders and the newer excutables and UGX mod manager maps), do they just have all of the files required for them to work in their respective folder named after the map in the mods folder? Or do many also install other files somewhere deep in the COD5 steam folders? I'm being a bit OCD but now I'm worried that uninstalling and reinstalling world at war and just draging and droping the mods folder back into C Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\  I may be missing files to my maps if many maps also install other files into other folders that I was unaware of. I'm used to Skyrim Mods where they install a million files into various folders within the game itself, it seems world at war is much tidier if all of the files are just put into the map name folder within  C Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\mods folder. Anyway Thank you for taking the time to read this I appreiate your guy's input.

To answer your question almost all the mod files are saved in the C:Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\ folder except the solo loading screen video's.

If you also want to backup these go to the C:rogram Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty World at War\main\video folder.
