I am having trouble with radiant not showing all of the textures that I have ported from cod4. I read this topic: https://ugx-mods.com/forum/index.php?topic=3904.msg44220#msg44220. The solution states to

, however I can't get the z textures to even show up in my map with the standard mod tools

Any chance someone can give me a prefab brush with a cod5 z texture on it so the rest of my textures show? Thanks

thats one solution, or you could do this

The reason you cannot see them, is because radiant has a limit on how many textures it can display. However if one it wouldnt display, is "in" a map loaded in radiant, it will show it

So what you "can" do, is reconvert your textures and prefix them

most of the textures ported via lime are prefixed with "c_" i notice, i wondered if for this same reason

or something. so they are higher alphabetically

or

go to raw / materials and material_properties

and take a huge chunk of the textures out ( store them elsewhere safely so you can put them back )

at this point, you can either just use it like that, or go make a map, and place some brushes with the textures on them, and save the map file ( then move the textures back )

easiest way to do this is to sort by date in windows, Have the "oldest" first at the top, then you can just grab a chunk from both folders and move them

I don't fully understand what prefixing it would do. Wouldn't it still limit the amount of textures even though it's renamed? I'll have to retry deleting the materials and properties files when I get home from work. I tried it last night and had no luck so I'm assuming I did it wrong. I'll report back tonight with my luck. Also these cod 4 textures were from cfgfactory so all I had to do was drag the materials, images, and material properties into the raw folder. How would I go about prefixing these? Thanks Harry you are essential to this community!
Prefixing works because its in "alphabetical order"

so prefixing with BO2_ or something will move it "up the list" so it doesnt fall in the bottom of the list - the part that radiant cannot display when it loads the textures when you open it

so "some other texture" way down the list alphabetically wont display - instead ( eg, say your texture is index 201 on the list, and it can only display 200, changing its name to "A" would make it now index 1, which falls - within - the 200 it can load ) - actual limit is not 200, just a example

to prefix you would need to rename the files in

raw/materials

raw/material_properties

pretty sure the names in both directories match too, so just find both files for the material, and rename them both with a_ or something

Confirmed, that did work. The only lame part is now I have to sift through all of the textures manually and see which ones work best for my map and which ones I wouldn't mind throwing away. Unless there is a way to look at them without radiant?
can use tom crowleys IWI viewer, still be a bit tricky tho

This is a unfortunate side effect of having limits in the editor. Hopefully if we get a radiant on BO3, such limits will have been completely removed. In this day and age, there is no need for them realistically

Nvm TomBmx made a iwi viewer. Thanks for the help now I can actually try to make a good looking map with some relatively new content haha

lol we posted at the same time  :lol:
as a random side note too, even using just the default waw textures, it still cuts the list of really early ( I think when i looked it reached about 80% of the textures available ). So theres actually more than radiant can display in the mod tools already

So might be worth looking through the waw textures way down the list too. They may not be "new", but for the most part, are not seen very often ( a lot of people dont even know they are missing for example )
