every map i try, every map i download it always fails after the download completes. I have no idea why? just throws the download data in a temp file, and i cant use this tool, the earlier versions worked flawlessly, but UGX M.M. 1.4.2 does this to me? whats going on and how do i fix this? 

Did you run it as Administrator?
It seems like your tool doesn't have the permission to execute the downloaded .exe files.

Yeah i have windows 8 admin mode totally turned down to where ya cant even use metro apps, user account control is off, i have indeed run as admin. It just doesn't make since an earlier version of the program works fine but the newest one does not. I recently had to re-install windows and it was still the same. after re-installing that is. I guess i will wait for another version of the UGX Map manager and hope for the best. Unless there are any other suggestions? 

Could be that it's win8, the modtools are designed for WP and the UGX-apps are all made for win7.

what I done was make a folder and place it on your desktop to give the app a place to put the files it generates. Also you could make sure path is correct, run as admin or maybe its your firewall and or antivirus. Try those things if you havent already. There is an error somewhere on your end good luck

Also you could always delete the program and reinstall/redownload
