I know most people will tell me to use a keyboard plus mouse, but that just doesn't work for me.  I personally don't enjoy the mouse/keyboard set-up and would rather just enjoy the game with a Xbox controller hooked up.

First, I want to buy a controller so will this one work?

It's not an official Microsoft controller is why I ask. I already know about the default_controller.cfg but will that controller work if I do that?

Also, if I do get this controller will I be able to sprint, melee, etc without using the keyboard/mouse and do it all via the controller?

I assume it would work. I use an official controller though so IDK if unofficial ones work.

You can do pretty much everything with a controller other than navigate menus.

Alright, thank you for the quick answer!  I may just spend the extra bit of cash and buy an official controller and not worry about them working or not.
