Can't find root

Ok so, i've been trying to make a custom map and i watched the tutorial video and i'm stuck at the script placer part. Everytime i hit ok on the script placer i get the error "UGX script placer was unable to find your root folder at:
cannot create map". Does anyone know how to fix this?

Do you have Call of Duty: World at War installed? Do you have the Modtools versions 1.1 through 1.4 installed? Did you install your game from a legitimate source?

Yes i have COD:W@W installed, yes it is from a legitimate source, and i'm not quite sure about the mod tools 1.1-1.4, i downloaded the mod tools from this website so maybe, but still i'm not quite sure.

P.S i'm not running W@W on a windows computer, i'm using VMware fusion on a mac, will this be a problem? Or will the UGX mod still work?

Does the game works well on this?

Yep, the game runs super smooth and i usually have no problems launching it.

Try setting custom game path in the script placer.

I did and it worked, but now i'm on the step where you use text edit and the things you have to edit on the video aren't there, does this have anything to do with the script placer or is this a different problem?

If the files you need to edit don't look right, it's probably because you didn't extract UGX Mod Standalone correctly into your root directory.

So should i delete the files, re download them, and then re extract them correctly?

Ok so i got the notepad++ step to work but now i'm on the step where you use winrar. to open ugx_mod.iwd and it keeps saying acess denied whenever i try to place it in the win rar. archives. Is there a way to fix this?
