does anybody know how to get the correct materials for mw3 weapons? i've tried everything...... and my weapons just turn out to have hundreds of small holes in them.... probably caused by their normal map........ im using their own images but it seems like the correct material is just a wet dream ....... any help is appreciated

what do you guys know about model smoothing in maya?
i have ghosts's vector crb and i want to smooth the iron sights.....
but i want to smooth them in a way that the sights are smooth and the uv texturing doesnt look broken....
if you have any tutorial of how to do it i would appreciate it :3

I dont know much about WaW porting (i do it for bo3) but i'd assume it's something to do with the anim model maybe? (if waw even had those)
well the anim model is the one you extract to use with the animations..............
its frustrating i cant solve this..... i have tried everything with no success

Well do the anims look fine in maya? or did you download the gun from somewhere
the anims on maya are 100% perfect.... and i extracted the model and anims straight from the game with toms tools :P

the joints must have been bound/set up/exported incorrectly
is it possible to solve the problem somehow?

so the other day, i ported the pkp pecheneg from mw3 to my mod.....
but somehow this is what happened to the bullet chain







this never happened to any lmg i ported

when i ported m240 the chain was fine
but NOOOO the pecheneg is a nasty piece of work

i would appreciate any help

P.S. yeah yeah i wish i didnt have the stupidest problems of the world so i wouldnt have to write it here but........

can you actually use hex editing for ripping animations as well?

did you put the xanim's in a .csv? It does not Always work if you dont

have you taken off ALL attachments?? also try using mw3 mw2 or mw1 viewhnds
what do you mean "taken all attachments off ?"
and why does it matter that i have bo2 hands? they all have the same binds xD

are you using viewmodel_no_hands_model I the weapon file or are u using iw viewhands

i know i post a lot of problems i have on this site, and probably have busted too many nuts by now.....
but i decided to put the mw3 hybrid sight  on mw3 m4 for my mod....
i did all the material conversions and the anims for the hybrid......
and added them to my weapon file
but on game this is how my gun appears



what have i done wrong?

i was checking people's topics on how to make a moving texture..... so i followed the tutorials... and the moving texture works.... but all of it......
i have the image of a galaxy and for moving texture i put an image of stars... i made the alpha channels and removed every single black pixel..... so i got the stars as a result....
how can i make only the stars instead of the complete material move?

Does a new map without any custom stuff compile?

Maybe you are trying to use mod builder to compile a bad custom model or anim.
it does......
but i have checked every model i have ported.... what im saying is... first time i had no errors and all the sudden it stops to ver 368 yada yada..... doesnt compile jack shit
and now it doesnt even search for all materials xD
and as i said before....... it doesnt even check the changes i make xD

Classic mapname. Its actually why i originally replied. Maybe add the standard "Der" in front.

Another suggestion
Open map source. Organize by date.
Compile and as soon as the "leaked" error shows it makes a lin file.
Copy and paste it (ctrl c ctrl v)it will merge into the error file so be quick.
Rename it back to mapname.lin.
Load radiant. Load map. Load lin.

It will draw a red line around radiant to the problem. Its mainly used for portals but it should point to the problem.
as i said the problem is not the map compiler....... but the mod builder (the thing that builds the weapons, images, sounds etc.)...... my map is fine and compiles just as fine just with the reinstallation i did :P
