i got this and i followed the TUT to the T! i did 5 times

that is normal, you can ignore it

and when i go to compile my map i get this

Not sure what that next error is, i just know that the first error with the common is normal. Someone else will need to assist you on that

Yeah dude thats normal i usally ignore it

If you're getting "process.....link....compress....." that means it's not completing the compile. When it compiles properly you will see "process.....link.....compress.....save....done". This is almost always because the compiler doesn't have enough memory to complete it's operation. Try closing some apps and trying again. If not a restart of your computer might do some good.
