Fix: Modtools was configured for UGX mod, UGX mod was not installed causing the font issue. The 'missing scripts zombiemode_dogs' error was me forgetting to compile the .ff files for MAPNAME_patch. A fresh install resolved all issues.
I am using the Modtools + Patch v1.0.6 pack (latest and only working install on UGX-Wiki) with Script Placer 2.0 and T4M.dll I installed to play on maps that use it. Mod Tools installation was done per the instructions on UGX-Wiki. Setup:
Non-Steam version WAW
Script Placer 2.0 → EasyFX + UGX-Mod enabled (bosses, objectives, starter map).

Did
not test a basic Setup map before building my own.
Mapped a test layout, Ran converter, compiled with default compiler settings (Used instructions from MOD TOOLS by GAM3VIDS).
Built using UGX Launcher, default settings(same tutorial).
Running on Plutonium.
Problem:
Game loads but the main menu is alien text.
Map compiles/links without visible errors.
Map can be loaded from an invisible console but immediately returns to main menu with alien-text error popup.

Attempts: Created common_ignore.csv (Does not come with some versions of WAW and was causing an error) using a standard ignore file setup to fix an error(ignore,all,all) though I suspect this had no affect other than removing red text
Followed Standalone 1.0.3 guide using my original test map: compiled FF only → built UGX mod IWI → created CPM → moved with COD Project Mover. Didn’t get two files as guide shows. (This seemed to be a futile attempt)
Tried compiling/building fresh Script Placer setup map afterward → Will not even load without crashing and displaying an error (see attached).

Notes: No leaks, geometry compiles fine.
Issue with the original test map I built seems to be a compiler error that does not exist with the default setup map.
Issue with the default setup map seems tied to UGX main menu templates (IWI/CSV) not linking correctly.
Apparently alien text is a UGX Mod 1.0.4 issue but I'm unsure why its an issue
I typically follow all guides to the letter, in this case with outdated information it seems to have been a detriment somehow.
I had not seen the converter step until after I viewed the video tutorial by GAM3VIDZ and prior to compiling my original test map (the one I put all of a few hours into)
I cannot get the map to compile properly using the available instructions and tools, nor can I find any information about my issue, all other "alien text" forum posts link to the standalone 1.0.3 tutorial on the UGX wiki, which I think may be outdated seeing as my launcher appears to have no issues creating and moving the files on its own. My hope is someone with far more knowledge than me, can explain to me what I did wrong, if I can fix this, or if not, how I can scrap it and start over. (potentially retaining my completed brushwork but, at this stage I wont hope for more than a working setup/blank map) BUILD SETTINGS (BOTH):
