So I have a death machine in my map that I would like to use it in the fashion like a flamethrower... make it to where it overheats and has unlimited ammo. I got everything to work, except the 'minigun hud' icon that should appear in the corner. I changed the hud icon in the weapon file to "hud_icon_death_machine".

I think I messed up when creating the image with assman. I made the death machine material/icon like I would any other texture... but it is not in radiant and has no surface obviously. Its an image that is 128x64, which works fine because I have done this with other textures before. The Icon is white, like it is in BO, and the background is transparent. And yes, I did put the image in my mods folder.

But when I load up my game after building my mod and compiling, the image just turns into a checker board.

How do I fix?

Sometimes I have to add the material line in mod.csv, so try doing that. Even though it is being compiled and it is in my images folder in mods, it still makes me do this.

So in the box in launcher do material,(material_name).

Does it have any errors in launcher about it?
There is one that says "image 'images/hud_icon_minigun.iwi is missing" but this was the name of the hud icon in the weapon files when I downloaded it... even though there was no actual image there. That is why I made my own with a separate name
