Hello, I'm a first time map maker and I hardly understand the glowing black tools. I have some basic brushes. But I want to add details like model and so on. I'm not sure how to add a model. add privilege Or set up barricades where zombies spawn? Any help would be appreciated!

I would recommend starting out by watching "IceGrenade" on youtube. He helped me get going as a mapper by watching his tutorials from the very beginning. The questions you have asked are hard to answer without writing a page essay.
 
Zombie spawners, barriers etc are very simple to set up if you follow some videos on youtube and yeah sorry I can't really say much more haha.
 
Good luck with making a zombies map the first one is always the hardest to make then its smooth sailing
