This map features UGX Mod v1.0.3! For a full list of features, click here.

This town was never meant for life, we built it up with the intention of burning it down.

I don't know why some people think that their nuketown was a "crappy attempt". In my opinion they delivered exactly what they should have. The detail was also spectacular compared to tranzit.

Cosmetically it looked awesome but aside from that the rest was $hit, it hits me and others harder as i ended spending an extra £20 for it with the HE, and there were pre-release interviews saying the map would be opened up, have underground features, make it its own map, when we got, it turned out to be an also rushed piece of $hit to compensate Green Run, it was a basic $hit survival map like Town, Farm with  nothing to do and nothing special in it, 4 perks yet 8 locations, no WW in the map, the perk layout system was pathetic and wasnt necessary. Nuketown could've been the best map they ever made, but it was a wasted opportunity and Trashtown will always go down in mine and many others book as one of the most disappointing maps in Zombies and 3arc really let me down with it, they also let it go free with the season pass then everyone can buy it a month later, so HE owners had next to no exclusivity with it

We all know 3arc will never have maps that can rival the mod community, hence why we're all still playing WaW.

Now that we've digressed,  The map looks good so far, keep at it.

And most importantly: secrets and easter eggs are always a plus!

I never really played Nuke Town zombies.. What was so wrong with it that shouldn't be seen in this map?

the issue IMO like i already said was the lack of perks, WWs, i know with UGX for now it has 4 perks but v1.1 will have plenty where i hope you'll update this map then, i dont mind if this map is small like the zombie version, but what annoyed me is 3arc said it would expand on the original and if anything it became smaller with debris everywhere.

Main Things:
All perks available from beginning
WWs (with UGX, already sorted)
Try not to make it smaller than it already  is.

Anyway, can i say that so far this map looks pretty sick and with UGX its even more and with v1.1 on the map it would kick 3arcs in the ass, looking forward to release, good work

Main Things:

The perk machines are not functional and are just to troll you except for a perk that shrinks the existing playable area even more. Also, we modified the UGX-Mod so that there are no wonder weapons in order to make it more challenging.

i dont know whats happening, comosea will be updated with v1.1, but the last i heard the mod itself will be released before the updated comosea

nice well Ill hope to have the map ready before it comes out so it'll be one of the first UGX Mod 1.1 experiences. Also a bunch of other features! like water tornadoes  ;D

I don't know, they cant give a release date, there adding so many awesome things, i wish it would come out now as im off for a bit and can try it out, but i think August seems unlikely, September is probable, but i reckon you'll have the map done way before it comes out, so id suggest releasing it with v.1.0, then when v1.1 comes out, you can simply drag the new update in, the only work you may have to do, is placing the new perks, and possibly box locations now, as we have pandoras box, which may not fit in many box locations

"In a world where time is irrelevant and words have no meaning comes a map premise explanation so confusing that it will cause your brain to self-lobotomize just reading it, so keep going. An island-lab-test-facility-resort-town is about to be torn apart by an evil otherworldly force from beyond the grave. You are the world's only last best hope for survival...that is, unless you are playing with up to 3 friends then you are only one of the last best hopes for survival. sorry man the water spout's pissing me right off right now, so Im not sure if ill get it in in time. for some reason the fx stops as soon as you look at it, but sometimes it works perfectly. but yeah be excited!

hell this is the beta i dont expect it to be fully working in the beta, but would be a great addition for final release, should suck up zombies lol

I like that the zombies can ride the ziplines, pretty damn funny to watch.

You have two P90 wall spawns and two MP5 wall spawns.

the waterspout hes having issues with and it doesnt always show up, wall weapons arent finalized nor are in any order.

So... having given the map a couple of runs, I have to say I am really impressed with the design and layout of it. You have done a brilliant job with it all.

I did notice that the box failed to give out the Thundergun once in a round 23 run, and 100+ hits between us, but we did manage to get the Remington every second spin. This needs to be addressed.

Also noticed a weird quicksand effect every now and again, where the characters we play as would sometimes get stuck while running for a brief second. Not sure what that was about!?

Either way... the map is really impressive so far, and was a lot of fun to play on (unlike the boring TMG Alcatraz), and villas are fun to traverse through, but extremely difficult to train in.

Cannot wait to see the finished product. Well done man... very nice!  ;)

yeah the box config for WWs or decent guns should be adressed, i got the ray gun once but without phd that is a no go, and we never got winters howl or t-gun but got the winchester more than enough times

Also before release, you may want to edit the Gun Game settings to be similar to what Chaos did to Zebba Farms - it worked nicely and I wish I had configured it similarly before v1.0.3's release - ugxm_user_settings.gsc.

Beachtown's Layout and structure is amazing just like a Treyarch map , im just waiting for see more detail and 2 or more houses , also i cannot wait to see this map with 1.1 and PhD Flopper.

Played for like 2 hours last night. I really feel like this is a fun zombie world to be in, which is harder to create than you'd think.  A lot of creativity has gone into making some fun playable areas stitched together with ziplines to speed up gameplay. Perfect for the fast paced, frantic UGX game modes both current and future.

- It is hilarious to shot zombies off ziplines and watch them fall to their undead deaths.
- It's fun to figure out which barriers you should open and if there are some you should just leave closed. Whatever it takes for maximum survivability.
- Seeing if there is a route you can figure out to always stay one step ahead of the zombies or if just finding a corner to hold down with your friends is the best way. I love all the options this map gives you in how you can play it.

A map should never dictate how much fun you can have, that should be left up to you and I feel a lot of maps these days rob you of the fun you can have by limiting you to playing the map a certain way and that will never be my philosophy in map design. Freedom should belong to the player.

i made a post of feedback on Zommods, but seeing as thats gone down, not sure if you saw it

I hate wonderweapons, I don't care if Jei takes them out of the box altogether. I want doors to be fairly expensive and for there to be weaker wall weapons so you have to rely on getting better weapons from the box and if you don't then you may be in trouble. I do agree though that the box should be more generous than the way you described your experience.
Maybe he can release a future version where you open the first door for $1 and it hands you the Thundergun on your way out  :D

Fair point. They are certainly missing out on great guns like the Mine Placer and German Machine!

that maybe because the thundergun is epic? and WWs are your only bet into higher rounds in most cases, WWs make the game fun which is what i play zombies for (of course there not the only thing in making a fun game, but they definitely contribute), i do know a fair amount of particular upgraded guns like mine placer, draguwaffle, m14 etc

He answered me in the Chat Room the other day - you shoot a metal mesh piece out from a tree near the boat assembly area. It falls to the ground and you pick it up.

Alright the map so far is good for me no major bugs or anything like that  :). My problem is that it feels to campish for a map, I can hold up in pack with a sniper for a long time. With jug i can hold my on there with a pack weapon in the late rounds and as well in the begin but  :please: I love this map so far. I would like to see hard way to get the box.  :nyan:

From what I understand the PAP isn't staying there OR else it at least won't allow you to camp so easily. Also, there are going to be measures put in place where it will be hard to camp anyplace for too long. Be ready to run...and run.

Okay here is some feedback and some friendly constructive criticism to help you further devolop your map :D Firstly i wanted to say that i am very impressed with what you have done and look forward to the full release :D

Here are a few bugs I found, mixed in with some compliments :)
- Zombies fall through hole in floor when you stand in a certain spot (juggernog side) sometimes when this occurs, zombies teleport back up? scared the shit out of me  :'(
- Can fit between two piles of planks and zombies cannot get/hit you (outside speed cola tower)
- Powerups (such as double points) can drop outside of the map when you kill zombies before they enter the map
- When in the pool, should be able to either move faster or shoot, as zombies can easily kill you straight away there
- Clearing debris needs animations?
- Really nice detailing throughout the map such as use of signs and embers and bugs around lightposts add a nice touch, use of signs etc to advertise sites such as zommods.com done nicely, rather than huge flying advertisements.
- Instead of walking around pool, zombies tend to regularly climb up the ladder and jump in, which is kind of cool but it happens quite a bit
- Water animations are really nice c:
- When zombies run through sand at the back corner of the juggernog tower (where they run up the small ramp to get there), they have half of their body underground, their running path is all over the place and they are difficult to hit
- I can stand in a spot in the starting room where i can see juggs, but if i take a few steps back it becomes invisible
- If i am getting chased by a train of zombies and I am on Speed cola side, I can run through the bottom floor of the bulding and come out the other side leaving the zombies just standing there, then after shooting them a bit the run away then run back to me
- Sometimes have alot of trouble getting out of the pool, many times it crashes with some error about crosshairs or something
- I love the layout and design of the buildings on the sides :D

Overall its a very impressive map :D Good luck with your future projects :D

arrr i see its been released first on Zommods, i cant play solo, downloaded twice and keep getting error message 'cannot join game in progress', i should get the activision logo thing but it loads as if i were playing coop which im not, i havent tested coop as theres no-one to test with.

Edit: Having now tested coop, and been able to play the map, im impressed with the map, the sea mist, the buyable ending, i was however disappointed with removal of the swimming pool and water spout, i guess you couldnt get them to function properly, and also the lack of perks, in the big main house with pap at the top, there are loads of rooms empty, and there is not a single perk in there, there was plenty of space for perks from your last map, at least bo1 perks - i mean you made the bo1 perks after all, we've had the stock perks for 5 years, getting bored of just them, and this map lacks longevity and replayability without them which is a shame for such a lovely map

Well, after playing the map today, I was very impressed with how much it has changed since the beta testing a few month back.

Visually, the map is fantastic. Lacks some definition in some of the detailing but overall it is rather pleasant to look at, so job well done. I did find a lack of decent sound effects or ambient noises, and some fx sounded out of place at times.

My biggest drawback with this map, like the visually stunning Fallout Assault Center is that it only has the bog standard, and very boring stock perks contained within it.

Why when W@W dropped 5 years ago are we still getting maps with only 4 perks!? We have had dozens of perk machines since then, some amazing ones too, yet they seemed to get overlooked often on the custom scene. Maps that carry just the 4 stock perks lack serious longevity to them unless heavily objective based. I ended up just running the map with only Jugg. :(

Objective wise, the map has a nice little EE to it in order to escape, but it was short lived and very easy. Some nice steps to it though.

Overall Beachtown is a fantastic map both visually and in design, but the lack of perks is seriously disappointing for me.

i dont know what that means but there are maps far bigger and have more detail and have more than in beachtown and have more perks, im sure there is a way to get more perks in your map even if it means removing 6 planks of wood

Ah... well, that's understandable then, but I would have definitely prefer to have seen Double Tap removed and swapped with something more interesting.

I find that perk a little redundant nowadays since having used DT 2.0.  Shame it is not more prominent in the custom scene.

Still, the map is pretty good man. I enjoyed the game but feel the lack of perks hurts it. Objectives were fun, but could have done with more steps or more difficulty to the ones included.

That aside, I definitely think you have done a great job here on visuals and design. If you can work in more perks somehow,  then this would definitely be a great map indeed.

that model and hintstring are part of the EE steps, and as you have completed each step, you'll see what the hintstring says, the model you must pick up at a step

I never really played Nuke Town zombies.. What was so wrong with it that shouldn't be seen in this map?

The Dragonov paped stings lighting at you almost the whole time if getting close
