ENCAMPMENT

This is my 3rd map, created for the UGX mapping contest, I have spent around 3 months on it, and I hope you enjoy it!

Special credit goes to HarryBo21, this map would not have been possible without your help and input :D

FEATURES:
A multitude of weapons from BO1,BO2,BO3,MW2,MW3,Ghosts and BF4
Dual Wield weapons
9 randomly spawning perks
Buildables - Power, Zombie Shield and Pack a Punch
Shrieker zombie
Origins and Shangri-La zombie models, spawning in their own areas
Jungle theme and atmosphere - Thunderstorm atmosphere too
New Powerups - Zombie Cash, Bonfire Sale and Random Perk
BO3 Pack a Punch fire sounds
Custom Font and HUD
The Scavenger, the Ray Gun, the Ray Gun Mark II and the Blundergat feature as Wonder Weapons
Capped zombie numbers, to make higher rounds (30/40+) go faster
Walking zombies in higher rounds, like BO2
Toggleable Hitmarkers (Host operated in co op)
FOV slider

Easter Egg song - Copyright free - "Beauty of Annihilation - The Giant Remix"

NOTES:
- The map is geared more towards survival and high rounds, than EE hunting
- A few features shown in the WIP were cut, due to time constraints and other issues
- There is no major EE, for reasons as above
- No buyable ending, as I don't like them, want an ending? Set yourself a point goal or something, that's all endings achieve anyway :P
- There is a 4 perk limit, to get more, you must rely on the Random Perk bottle drops


KNOWN ISSUES:
There are a few issues I do not have the time or the knowhow to fix:
The Ray Gun Mark II will occasionally leave 2 impact FXes
Hintstrings for the buildable tables will show when you are above or below the table itself
Zombies may sometimes derp out in some spots, I think ive eliminated them all, but beware
The Mystery Box has no open sound, The sound just refuses to work at all for me
The first Mystery Box Teddybear Laugh sound doesn't play, same as above
Some Upgraded Dual Wield guns may show 2 shell ejects from the left gun

Image appears to have broken, so im removing it from the post

Worked on one side of the first building, started work on a waterfall (Shown in the background)
Fizz wont be there properly, obviously.
Got the river flowing, thanks to help from JBird, added sound to the river.
Worked ALOT on guns and texturing them - all guns so far have full specular maps.

Due to the map file getting corrupted and deleting all entities, progress has been set back a ton.
The recovery software I used only recovered half the file, and I could only get back the later entities I placed down, so pretty much everything I did in the first few days has gone :(

I will need to redesign the whole spawn room, and re do spawners, zones and pathnodes.

That is why You should always make tones of backups.

I think sparky made an entity extractor try that on a earlier build of your map mabey

This looks like exactly what I need, have either of you used it before? because the readme is very unclear, it doesn't tell you what file to put where and what to run, also, I have a help topic on this matter, ill link there to avoid filling my WIP with this, thanks for help anyway:

Recovered from the lost map stuff, back up to speed and am now making progress
The picture shows the first building, ive been working on the interior.

Not done much in terms of weapons yet, might move onto weapons more for a while

Completely finished the first building
Added more weapons
Added the Remington R5 from Ghosts, using CM901 anims - Rollonmath fixed ADS anims for me
Re-textured some existing weapons to be shinier

Looking nice, like I told you 2 weeks or so back I think, if you can port anims already then watching Rollon's tutorial should be one be one sitting for you, just different steps, etc. but nothing major. :)

For the 2 Dual Wields I have so far (Colt and HS10) they will be DW both normal and PAP, I might make a couple more dual wields, bear in mind I only have BO1 for anims, so am limited to choice, but Python dual wield may be a thing, no promises, Notetracks for these dual wields are proving difficult, specifically as BO doesn't have half the sounds in the mod tools

They use the same anims, but look and sound different. Different clip size, and ammo.

Haha, Im powering on to hopefully finish the .map side in a week, then I will be fixing up stuff weapon/mod side and make sure it is playable, then will be beta for people who have contributed in some way  ;)

Added a Custom Scoped Kar98k, with the MW3 Dragunov scope, and a spruced up texture, also custom fire sound.
Added Exo Zombies font

Yeh, that's the main thing holding back WAW guns IMO, if you can find sprint anims for them (Treyarch were lazy in the BO1 DLC and kept the WAW bobbing for the WAW guns) like the MP40, PPsh, etc, or newer versions like the Origins guns, then I wouldn't mind having WAW guns with spruced up textures and sounds and stuff. But the fugly WAW bobbing I can't be dealing with. ;D

Edit: I actually just thought of something, you could use the pullout/putaway anims for the sprint_in/out (or if they aren't suitable wouldn't be too hard to make your own. Then use a similar gun's sprint_loop anim (the hands are off the screen and are corrected with the sprint_out anyway) and it would probably look legit.

PPSh has sprint anims though in BO1

And yes, I renamed all anims, so they wont overwrite anything :please:

dunno if i remembered to tell you this, but prob best not to have revive on auto spawn, as may miss out the "ignore power" thing on solo ( checks for the machine placed on load, might be wrogn there, i cant remember if i allowed for that )

Started to retexture a couple of the "older" guns to look gritty, scratched, and well, old.
Added a slightly better fire sound for the M1911

Ive started testing actively now, in co op too.
Already fixed some stuff up, and got plenty on the list.

Just added it as it came
Was gonna use the BO2 font, but it didn't look right, then decided BO1, but was told it was hard to rip, went with Exo, and it fits surprisingly well, I like the font on Points and round counter like this

Unfortunately, the Origins box had to be removed, as it refused to animate in co op on my map (works on others :P )
I replaced it with a modified WAW box

Fixed most everything with the Shrieker and Napalm (Thanks Harry ;) )
Added more guns
Fixed lots of bugs

Was hoping to release before BO3, but if you guys want a quality map without bugs, then itll have to be another couple weeks. I want this map to be as good as I can physically make it :)

Yeah my worry is it will only work for host in Co-Op, I think a more practical idea would be maybe a switch in game? But I'm not sure if players can troll each other by constantly turning it off. XD

Isn't it better if each player can respectively turn it off? So maybe your friend wants hitmarkers, but you don't. One has them ingame, one doesn't, but in the same game

Well that's what we're aiming for. :lol:

If I can't get it to work in time for release @Pro maybe have an option pre-game in Main Menu and in Co-Op Pre-Game Lobby Menu? :)

Added this one in my favorite Custom maps, side by side with TMG Castle, Lockdown, Rainy Death, Backlot, Industrial Estate, RiseV2, Dead Ship, TMG Alcatraz, BO2 Town, Penguin, QuizzV2, CPH, SumpfV3, Return to Kneipe de Untoten, Kino: The Rebirth, and a few more... not less important of course ::)

One of best custom maps I've ever play. No joking, you can take a look on maps i mention above. Not like kids which come here and the only CM they ever play is from 2010 - 2011 :lol:

Great map! I just got done playing "Encampment V1". I have a lot of feedback on this map!

Good:
------------
- I enjoyed having a good amount of "duel wield" weapons. This is something we don't get a lot of in Custom Zombies.
-The difficulty is perfect, not too hard, not too easy.
-The build-able power & shield etc are great! And the random parts too!
-The orange eyed zombies? AWESOME
-The environment & sounds really put in well!
-I love the waterfall

Bads
-----------
-Traps, that's the only thing i have bad to say. I hate using scavenger to kill the zombies because of the 4 perks and sometimes not getting flopper. I think someone either incorporate a trap or add some other way to get more perks. I got to round 32 on this map (Fully recorded 1-32 if proof is needed.

I have a recording of it on my twitch page. I'm not sure if it is an issue with Mule Kick or the upgraded MP7, but you can get every gun out of the box.

I really enjoyed this map.  I didnt get the power on till like round 12 because the handle was in one of the last places I opened.  Thankfully there was good weapons on wall to carry me through.  Made it to Round 29 on my first play through.   8)

I didnt actually keep track of who did what to be honest.

The craftables, perks, zombie models, shrieker to name a few were all done by Harry
HUD and Fonts were Pwn's

Dual wield guns were done by me, but using Rollon's tut (Harry did M1911s)

Gun ports are all custom/re-done CFG, what people gave me or ported by me

Everyone in the credits did something, I just didnt keep track lol

Harry knocking it out of the park again. I absolutely loved the changing perks. The shrieker was also just difficult enough that I didn't hate it.

I noticed you fancied the dual wields. They were alot of fun. And the names were great specifically Yogi Bear haha. Seriously though this map is great. I really had fun and I will definitely try to get on your leaderboards as soon as you can re-edit  ;D

One of the most legit maps I've ever seen, apart from stuff like Project Viking or Leviathan. Very good! Can't wait to see what happens when more WWeapons are released on BO3 and what u will do with them! :)

Adding BO3 weapons isn't that easy...

Just because they are in BO3 it isn't just cut and paste into waw.

The 2 I have were a lot of work, and I had a LOT of help with them.

Very nice map, simple and fun. I really liked how you had to build the power switch and PaP , took me a while to find the switch ahahaha. The random perk machines in each location was also a nice touch. However, during my playthrough I noticed that there weren't many power up drops, I think I only got about 2 max ammo's. I didn't get any of the additional perk bottle drops either. I kind of like this, whether it was intentional or not, it made playing a bit more challenging. Great map anyway, congrats on the number 2 spot!

The drop rate does seem to lower quite a lot in the higher rounds, im unsure why this is.

First off, awesome map. I am very picky with the maps i play. I do not like the half assed ones that were made by someone just testing the map tools. This is far from that and a very well done map.

Few things:
My friend and I were in the middle of level 35 when i hit print screen to take a screen in case we died and it shut my game off. :(
However, we learned a few things through our playtime. For whatever reason, intended or not, past round 3-4 no max ammo's were dropping a bumber in the later rounds when you find out this next glitch.
If you buy mule kick and get down, when you get back up you still have your weapons and can buy infinite amounts of weapons. This was amazing-ish because you could not get rid of empty weapons(with no max ammo it made it necessary to get rid of empty weapons after pack-a-punching) so all you had left to do was buy all the box weapons and after that the wall weapons and just get ammo for them every 10 minutes in the higher rounds. (sorry to anyone that didn't want this fixed if it gets fixed)

Side notes(even though you said you were not updating):
Vulture Aid would be a wonderful addition to this map. Some of the other wonder weapons like the ones from "Five"(Freeze gun) "Moon"(Microwave gun-thingy) and "Kino"(Thunder Gun)

Thank you for a wonderful play experience and i cant wait to give it another go soon. I also cannot wait to see you come up with more!

had the same issue back then with my assets . Coz of some copyrighted names . Had to change the hole file name lol .

Just got done with a playthrough of the map and I love it! Only got to round 21, unfortunately. I would post a screenshot of the round-end screen, but Steam didn't save it for some reason.

Fantastic map overall. I only just stopped playing it but I'm already itching to go back and play some more.

All that being said, anyone have tips for the map? I'd love to hear about what the better PaP'd weapons are or what other peoples strategies involved.

It's a great, fun map. Only major downside is the spawn rate for perks. I'm on lv. 22 and haven't found 7 perks. Double tap and speed cola 💔
