I've had a post over at The other zombie sites so I thought what the heck, may as well try out UGX :) well here is 2 videos showing my (almost) current progress. I have added in much more detail and shootable easter eggs (thanks to thejipppp at ZM for that) and it looks All around better. The first one is an i depth of the house, and the second is the outside. Enjoy :)

All feedback welcomed :D when the UGx 1.1 is released i think I'll put it in the map if I don't finish it by then :) (forum admin please make links work properly I have url bracket but they don't seem to like me 8( )
ok, so this map will feature:
Standard WaW Perks
Custom Perk Skins
All custom textures
BO perks
(most likely) BO weapons
Shootable Sound Easter eggs (thanks to the jipppp at ZM
Difficult tight areas and wide open areas
Fully functional Concert area blasting sweet victory music (3D sound wins) thanks to thejipppp for that also
A Detailed Krusty Krab (looks ugly in video I know I made it nice)
Moon-style teleporter to get to the concert area
And anything else you guys reccomend!
The story is that Plan Z is not going the way plankton has intended it to. It is turning everyone into zombies and making them go insane. It is up to you to get to the concert and hit the kill switch to shut down planktons evil plan. If you do not succeed, all of bikini bottom is lost.
I decided to base it off the videogame Spongebob Squarepants Battle For Bikini Bottom but add my own twist and make it night time. It is not going to be identical to the game, but the house is pretty dang simmilar for call of duty :D anything else you want to know ask me :)

This new system we introduced a few days earlier makes it that you can't update your OP. you would have to ask an Admin/UGX staff/Site mod to do it for you. I'll move your link to the OP in a second.

Ow and in the krusty krab, Mr. Krabs office is on the left with the safe with the secret recipe, you could make an easter egg of it if you want ;)

that is great :D but I can't script but I do have a guy (TheJipppp) making me a simple Easter egg like get these objects, decipher the code, etc. but if u have someone that has the time ( and energy lol ) to make me that it would be cool :D but the EE the guy is making me will be epic i promise!

does anybody want to rig the 4 models (dempsey etc) to be SB characters? the models arent the problem, as i can get them easily. Just the rigging. the guns and stuff can be floating or anything it doesnt matter as long as the characters are SB characters? im not speaking proper english its late lol. Anyone that knows me knows that I like complaining about little crap, but honestly, I got just about nothing. Sure, doors look like they need proper triggers and you forgot the Chum Bucket entirely, but otherwise, I'm speechless as to how just... good it is. It's layed out just like the show and is exactly what you'd expect if you heard "spongebob" map. I really want to know how you got all those textures though because that is an amazing amount of custom work. What I'd like to see is a bunch of jelly fish on the map's border that you can walk through, but they will sting you and you could hide power behind them. Awesome map overall. Good job.

i didn't model the chum bucket yet don't worry :3 and what's wrong with my doors? :P u click a button i like it like that. And yeah that would be cool with the jellyfish I'll check that out. Realised I didn't update UGX, I made it day time and things like that

the zombies have a chum bucket bucket helmet on their heads (still have to test it) and it is in the daytime. Jellyfish fields mabey, would delay the release but I will consider it. Probably a teleport able area or something.

he put not too much effort into that map those are extracted models from a GMOD pack in which I am conveying models as we speak, so there really is no effort put in besides scripts and player models and a floor. Anyone can get models but not everyone can make a good map with insides of places and detail. No worries now I have more to work with hehe models up the *bleep*

Well Im not a map developer but I got another suggestion that might beat that competition hard. Im not sure if it's possible but if you can make the PLAYER look like spongebob and patrick and in the co-op the other two players will be mr.krub and the squirrel sidney or something (forgot her name :lol:) the other players.

The competition isint even competition he got his models off of GMOD which I now have all of them so my map will be delayed due to the tons of models i just got that map won't even be considered when mine is done 8)

Production on the spongebob map has continued! I ported an entire map from the game and am currently clipping it, I think im going to make it a seperate map and add both maps to a map mack. I obviously don't speak for everyone, but I personally enjoy fun maps like these. Sure they are cartoony and don't really fit the theme of zombies, but that's okay. Its always fun when I see a map made from a game that I use to play as a kid. Like spongebob, or super mario. It brings the nostalgic feel back into my life. So I say, carry on making these kinds of maps, if some people don't like it then thats their problem.

I'm going to need to find an efficent way to teleport players between areas without having to wait ages for zombies to spawn and to disable all zones in the hub or jellyfish fields/bikini bottom city when the player teleports to said area. If anyone has an idea on how this would be done im down for it. Or just teleport all zombies to a certain place when a player clicks the trigger to teleport. Also, mabey adding a cooldown on the teleport so they cant bug it out and jump back and forth (5-10 mins?) I'd like to see what i could do with this! I'm going to find a way to incorporate these areas even if i dont get said script, and there will be a wait for the zombies when they come over to the new area because Im going to recycle a script from my other map and it will work that way. But, it would be more efficent if i got a script designated to the core idea i said above. :)
Im going to just keep editing this instead of bumping, kinda redundant as im just showing progress on the same shit.

You could couple it with DualVIIs "respawn at a certain distance" BO2 style script
Just put your area a long distance away, and set duals respawn script to a distance smaller than that
They will die off when you are teleported and respawn at the nearest spawn points to the player

Thanks man, hopefully it'll make him happy ;) I decided to make it one large map instead of a map pack because i think i can manage to fit all the stuff i need within the limits for pathnodes and such.
Yeah if i were you for streaming and such, make sure you have a decent mic and a decent computer, laggy videos are a turnoff. Thats about all i can reccomend :P

It would be epic if there was like a temporary, buy-able, perk-machine/vended ability to become invisible (like the equivalent of zombie blood from BO2 origins) where, for a time, the zombies wont chase you. And have it be "invisible spray" from spongebob. It would also be cool if there was some way of making an ending where you have to traverse the map (or some other long task), get parts for king Neptune"s crown (from the first spongebob movie), build it, and use it as a soul-box in some way or involve it in an ending.
Just ideas... either way, I can't wait for this map as it looks amazing and I applaud your work on it.

just a quick update, I took a break from mapping after I released my mario map (I needed one lol) and now this is my main project. Just writing this to say I hope to have this map close to ready in a month or 2 but I really don't want to say dates. If anyone with scripting knowledge could hit me up, I need some critical scripts to make the gameplay work with the new areas that I added to the map. I need something that you click a button ( 2 way button ), it brings all players to some structs, it waits, and deactivates all zones that i can specify (for example, I want zone_city1, zone_city2, and zone_city 3 activated and the rest deactivated). I then want another button in the zone of teleportation that brings you back and deactivates all the city zones and re activates the other zones (is this making sense?). I would need 2 of these 2 way buttons, one for jellyfish fields and one for the city area (3-4 zones per area). I am pretty sure this is possible but if anyone is willing to try it would be tremendously appreciated. Otherwise, I would have to use DualVII's "kill zombies that are far away" but the zone activation would kill me, as they would spawn in the old zone and just die, and would take time to get into the correct area, making the rounds really slow and choppy. All help is appreciated, and if you decide to try this for me I will be extremely grateful

Okay, does anybody want to become a co-mapper with me on this project? There is an overwhelming ammount of work that needs to be done and I want this thing finished by sometime In July-August. I need to still pathnodes, set up zones, clip large models, and much more. Scripting knowledge would be cool but if you don't that is fine, you just have to be a good mapper and not lazy, because if what you did looks bad ill end up re-doing it :P Thanks everyone

All of them were mapped with that game in mind, plus the level exports are from that game. I'm scraping the upper part of jellyfish fields, cause i'll never clip it. So basically just gonna put PaP at the fields and make it a tp zone, ill finish the map one day. One.... Day..... :alone:

I'm back on the project. For the past 2 days I worked about 9-10 hours on it adding zombies, fixing bugs, and doing many other things. Harry's perks are added, and I'm re-doing other things but it'll all be worth it in the end. Just need to sort out a script harry gave me for the teleporting to other areas and once that's done just more minor detailing, then the mapping side will be done. After that's done just adding guns, scripts, etc and the map will be ready for release. Trying to get it done before sept 10th, but not sure on the date yet. Thanks to radimax for clipping the rest of jellyfish fields for me, really helped me. Updates to come

Having dashie do my quotes would be hilarious but I got no special viewhands or player models so i think I'll leave the normal vox, and I don't wanna bother others to do the rigging for me. Plus if I was gonna do VoX I would use in game audio ripped from SB BAttle for bikini bottom.

They are in the form of shoot this and song will play. But if you shoot other song but song already playing it tells you to wait until current song is over. The sweet victory song is in 3D and can be replayed but others can not. So basically you gotta find 14 songs ;D

Small little update here.
stuck at the god damn memory limit, sounds retarded but i have a lot of shit in the map. Reducing on sounds and excessive items at the moment, then i will be adding BO1/2 weapons from CFG, (sorry if you dislike them, their better than WaW guns) after the limit is fixed then the map should be in playable/fully functional state. Have small things to correct which im doing tonight and also im attempting to fix the memory limit i hit, i must be calling some assets that im not aware of which might be messing me up. Will update when i fix the issue and when all guns are added
any suggestions let me know :D
small edit: i really need someone to help me with a skybox, if you are in any way skilled in photoshop or maybe know how to make scrolling flowers on a semi solid blue sky i would be super appreciative. I tried many of times to make a nice one and it always comes out looking very weird. If you could help me with that it would save me sooo much failed attempts in photoshop. Thanks guys :)

One tip, reduce the quality of custom sounds, it MASSIVLY decreases their size, and on things like firing sounds etc, you really wont notice. I halved the perks sounds size when i did this, making room to fit 30 more guns in

sub layer scrolling in assman
set colour map to a blank image ( not white - transparent )
and put your image you want to move on the "sub layer" section at the bottom
Then you can set it to scroll, vertical/horizontal at x speed
Will always be "unlit" tho

but also the 48000khz can be changed. 24000 is plenty, and will half each sounds size, I even reduced some even more, depends on the sound itself, as to how degraded it becomes
Also turn them mono, if they are "stereo". One channel is also smaller
I forget all the correct terminology here, but if you open the file in audacity should be pretty clear ;)
check the file size before and after, find settings your happy with
I halved the quality on all player quotes I ripped, otherwise they are literally huge, same with perk jingles - as they are also "stereo"

hey guys, i need beta testers. I finally bit the bullet and attempted to finish it, it is nearly complete i just need to fix pack a punch names and any bugs that you guys find. Send in your request now ill take the first 10 or so
Known bugs so far:
You can Strafe jump around a barrier in the goober place
In goober place there is a transparent texture which you can see through
some areas have floating model bits, i cant fix this
Small freeze in the beginning, and if you have corpses on insane you get small freezes from lack of ragdolls
No vulture aide green smoke
the shield has no model (Working on fixing it if not going to remove it)
dolphin diving can get you onto places you shouldnt be that are eye level, will be hard to fix all of these bugs
FAL-OSW has no texture
Galil PaP has no texture
When falling in goober place on Co-Op, it restarts game if they dont have jug or PHD (???)

Zombies "bodies" freezing in place when they should be ragdolling - yes too many ragdolls
game freezes - no, thats a infinte loop
Should only ever have corpses on tiny any way tho, cod 5s engine cannot correctly handle more than that, so they just freeze in position ( more and more often over time - you will notice it HARD on thunderguns lol )

A bit of an update on my progress:
i fixed the huge bug i was having that was freezing related, thanks to harry for a bit of clarity with this;
all i need to do is sort out some small issues and fix all of the weapon names and scripts;
Please, apply for beta access if you are willing to test the map i need people that will co op test as i lack that;
If you want to make something for the map PM me i will use any help i can get;

I suggest you make some stuff that you use a lot into Xmodels with Maya or Blender. It will make it look better having a 3D model instead of just custom texture brushes. If you need some made you can contact me throw skype. "derek_caudle" But just saying I'm busy making my Xmas map right now.

Logo looks pretty nice actually. Glad you got that bug fixed though, sounds like it would've been a major pain.
If you need co-op testers I've got plenty of buddies who'd be willing to help. My only issue is I can't pm on this site since I usually just download maps so we can play em.
