There were no stats on the CoD Wikia or weapon files from BO2 to get state times from, which makes it very difficult to correctly judge things like reload time and fire rate. If you have a specific time in seconds that the Blundergat would take to reload (without SpeedCola) then let me know and I will change it.

does'nt the sound of the upgraded version of the Blundergat have the same sound as the regular Blundergat?
And it sounds like the vitrolic withering basicially has the same sound as the waw trenchgun shotgun.

Ahh do whatever you want with the mod, I should not complain, as I have never ported a gun.

We made our own but they obviously do not compare to the originals, because every animation is unique and every animator has his own style and perception of movement.

We were given the animations which were used in the video and will credit the rightful people when the mod is released.

Also numerous corrections had to be made to the source tanim files, such as aligning the cartridges to the loader and animating the armor for the Sweeper and V Withering.

the reason for those "mis alignments" is that maya doesnt know how to display the animation data properly but it would work in game, just maya doesnt know how to display it correctly when it is being played in maya

The tanim which we received did not look correct when imported into the game untouched - the misalignments we saw in Maya were also replicated in the game. Fixing the alignments fixed it in-game.

I don't see a reason why Maya would be incapable of interpreting the positioning of a joint while the shitty CoD engine could - to me it sounds like a shortfall of the tanim importer, not Maya.

And what was the point of you posting here in the first place? To actually be helpful or to pretend you know everything?

We already fixed the anim, as stated earlier. There is an issue with the Sweeper/Withering reload but that's related to something I did, not the tanim or Maya.

I don't care whether the problem is Maya or the importer tool, I was merely suggesting the likely problem and apparently you are sensitive about that...

Sorry, I don't have the exact time. I really appriciate all of the hard work you've done with it anyway, a little reload time change won't ruin anything.

I've been calm the entire time, which has nothing to do with this discussion other than trying to redirect the subject to me.

I'm still not seeing the point of why you started this in the first place, other than to flaunt some tools that the rest of the community does not have access to. Unless you're going to contribute something useful to this topic or community, just leave.

Just reviewed footage and had a thought regarding the Vitrolic's explosion sound - would you consider using the Scavenger sound?
It is pretty much identical imo and would be more in line with the original sound from MotD

Another thought regards a comment you made about the Blundergat and Crossbow, curious if both will feature together or whether the Crossbow will be replaced - I don't know what others may think but you could trade out the Crossbow freeing up some space?

Irrespective of any of this I once again applaud your work and look forward to a very bright future :)

Both will be kept. As for the explosion sound we will take a look.

I noticed a similarity but the scavenger sound has a long leadup sound before the explosion, and if I were to use that I would have to make a second version of the sound which has the leadup cut out. Not worth adding an additional soundalias in my opinion.

The crossbow and the V Withering are not the same gun, despite their similar explosion effect. The V Withering does a shitload more damage than the Crossbow because of its triple-burst projectiles, making it more effective than the Crossbow. I think the two can exist without it being a waste of a weapon slot, but if we run out of room (which we are about to...), we will consider removing it along with some of the outdated CoD4 weapons.

@Trem - I don't know about others, but I would definitely be happy to see some of the outdated WaW or CoD4 weapons removed if it means getting newer and/or better weapons added. :)

@Trem - Fair points, wasn't aware the build-up & explosion were one continuous sound file but probably should have guessed as much
Regarding slots, I'm all for them co-existing (I personally enjoy the Crossbow on BO1) - was just checking up on a comment I saw previously

Nice work as usual. I also ported the Blundergat and Acidgat variants as well as the Acid Gat Kit. I was also aware of the misalignment with certain parts of the gun in maya, the bullet alignment problem can be seen in BO2 so it was their animator. The handle for the loader is caused by some other problem, but they can all be fixed with a little Maya know-how. I'm glad you guys took the extra time to make some more improvements, if you want to see my port click on my YT channel icon ;). Keep up the awesome work!

The gun is swaying inward like a raygun when you walk, you're missing the muzzleflash effects on the gun, your reload anim does not flip open the doghead armor on the top of the gun, and the acid texture on your projectile and on the gun itself is wrong - not trying to be mean, just pointing the stuff out so that you can improve the port even more. Good job on having the kit though, that's really cool. We thought about adding it but we are trying to avoid having anything which mappers have to place in their maps beyond the perk machines.

I really like your acid explosion effect, better than mine. I get really tired of spending time in EffectsEd trying to replicate someone else's work in that shitty excuse for a program so lately I've been a bit lazy in that department lol.

I'll look into the inward sway thing.

I just referenced the muzzle flash on youtube and you're right, for some reason I thought the acid gat wasn't supposed to have a muzzle flash so I'll fix that, but the other three variants have muzzle flashes.

The acid texture was a little weird, Echo tried a lot of different things with it and came up with the current sub-layer scroll texture settings. If we used model_unlit on the acid_ember it would have definitely gave it more pop though.

Haha, yeah Echo made the FX for this one, it definitely does the job. I always hate making FX, but if I was more used to the program maybe it wouldn't be so bad. =p

Yeah, I was thinking the reload was fine. I had the handle issue too, and it always looked fine in maya but broken in-game. I ended up tweaking the holder positioning on the xmodel, until it synched up with the anims in-game. Not the best or easiest solution, but since the glitch didn't make any sense this was a way around it.

I see, mine is sort of similar but maybe the video just made it harder to tell.

The green color on my acid isn't as bright as yours though, but that's due to the sub-layer settings. I also decreased the exponent on the acid, so that's why the metal looks a little brighter in a few spots. I also removed the end of the barrel on the acid gats, since that was suggested by Echo and he tried to look over a lot of the details from MOTD.

Thanks again for pointing out the flaws in my version, the inward sway definitely looked weird now that I'm aware of it. lol

Edit: To save you some time you can set "j_loader" on the problematic xmodels, to the settings I used:

translate x: -40.403
translate y: -0.812
translate z: -9.845
