Messages - Fracture Studios

Unfortunately, we are not going to release Celtic Ruins any time soon :alone: The reason behind this is that our mapper (Sirjammy) is currently  working on a new, fresh and an even better project than this. We are not sure if we are going to continue this project in the future. More info about this new exciting project will be released soon...

we want to thank everyone who showed their support for this map, and will soon announce the new project to the public!

Update:
Celtic is being heavily worked on by all of us at Fracture Studios. We have been working on terrain and background stuff, while our other team members are preparing the map to have all the wonderful features we plan to include. After completion of the mapping, we will then send our map to our zoner, then portaler to give everyone who plays this map the best experience (Even with a not so good computer). We have decided after roughly a year of working on the map that we really need to get it ready for release. We hope to have this map completed towards the end of December but until then we will start to supply trailers and game play for this map is getting close to done.
Details Regarding the map and features:
- Our new guns are almost done being animated.
- The easter egg is just about finalized
- We have made a list of everything we need for the final release for the map
- All of the features are just about done being scripted

Nice spotting hex but we heavily modified it to fit our map. Compare the two and you will se we used it as a template but changed quiet a bit about it

I have been getting the "CMod_LoadLeafs" error wich im pretty sure means i dont have anough detail brushes in the map, i get this often since i started the map. I just changed structural brushes to detail wich solved the error and i could then compile.

Now i got the error (2 weeks ago) and ever since i have been making detail brushes and still cant get it to compile.. I have alot of weaponclip brushes in the map and was wondering if weaponclip brushes also have the same properties and detail brushes, appart from that they are non colliding and have weapon marks. I always thought making a brush weaponclip was more better for the map than detail.. Thanks

I know that thi map will have WaW weapons, so I'll suggest that you guys put better textures/details/sounds in the boring (for me at least) "default weapons". In that way, we'll gonna have a kind of CoD WaW weapons 2.0  8)
Actuality we aren't going to have that many WaW weapons in our map...

I recently had to change my caulk box around the map and now when i compile above ground looks like this http://prntscr.com/4dhvc8

Dynamic sunlight is working on only models and its disregarding brushes / terrain patches.. I thought it may be because i havnt textured the inside faces of the caulk box but i also found that my "sky" textures magically dissapeared.

Any ideas will be appreciated, thanks.

I have been mapping recently and just compiled and got this error "CMod_LoadLeafs: firstCollAabbIndex exceeded" when i compile. I have had this error before, which i looked up i needed more detail brushes in the map which i then on consistently made detail brushes were necessary. But now i have compiled and i keep getting this error even though iv spent hours making detail brushes and now i cant see why it isnt working.

Ech, one map at a time everyone! I will say that we have made about 0.00001% of progress on this "Future project", we are in full focus on Celtic atm. And that the future maps being teased will not be touched until the planned ones are released... We MIGHT have something being released before Celtic to just stir up the crowd a bit, but no promises! ;)

Along with that we have been thinking about doing weekly polls. We were thinking that every Monday we have a new poll. You know, whether its a question, idea or concept we may want to add into the map. You guys vote, and on Sunday we release the results to the public. We feel this would really help make Celtic a better map in general, because we love feed back. So guys be looking forward to Monday because if we decide on going through with this idea there will be a new poll on the front page of Celtic Ruins. If you want to see something added into the map or have an idea for what we should implement, feel free to PM us or reply on this post. Thanks guys and new map update from Hex coming soon!

Are there any tentative release date estimates...I understand if you say "it'll be released when its release"...But its kinda like be addicted to heroin and you can't get a fix for an undetermined amount of time...I WANNA PLAY IT!!!!!
The thing about Celtic ruins is that it is not a remake or clone of any previous zombie or mp map. It has been improvised from the first brush made in the map. So when people make remakes of maps they usually will know that they are a "X" percentage done with the map based on what they have done and what the (official) final product looks like. If we could go into the future and see what Celtic looks like when its competently done we could give you a solid percentage and a possible date of completion. However because that is not the case with this map we have no set date of completion. However judging and taking into consideration everything that has gone into our map, it is safe to say that it will most likely be released before 2015. I dont want to give a set date because shit can happen and we would feel bad letting down all of the people very excited to play this map. Sorry for no set date but none the less this map will be released in the end. Thanks

18 NEW PICTURES CHECK THEM OUT
we decided to delete the old pictures and make new ones. Also lots of people were asking for new pictures and we are glad to show you these new and updated pictures.

If you do this then instead of sniperbolt box map copies we will have fracture studios testmap copies. The goal is to not get copies of any map, not to have the copies look better. So unfortunately I do not see this as a solution and have voted no. What would be useful is a test map that correctly demoed all _zombiemode features but you would need to pair with a working script placer in order to make sure all of the features work.

We will release our own "test map" which is a simple box that demos all of the UGX prefabs etc so that people know how to use them but I do not think we will bother making it a detailed map for the reason I stated above.

So after looking at the votes and reading the reply's we have made our decision of not doing this mostly for the fact that people dont want us wasting our time. So this post will be going down in the next couple of days but we definitely appreciate all of the feed back.
