This is my second map. I have been working on this for some time now (six months already). I do hope that people like the idea even though it's a remake.

Story:

After the cold war the american soldiers left Hanoi. They soon forgot this place and had no idea what it had become.
Vietnamise scientists formed their research on this forgotten prison. The experiments were kept hidden and no other humans were allowed near.
That is until the outbreak started. After that Hanoi was left to rot.
There is something in Hanoi that we were yet to understand. An evil force that no one dares to use. Until now...

Current features:
-A small objective/Easter-Egg
-Bo1 weapons and models. I wasn't able to port some weapons like the Galil or Commando as Maya just crashes every time I try to open them. No idea why ???
EDIT: Galil and Commando added. They were given to me by some awesome community members which will be credited in the release post

EDIT: The release date is set to this week if everything goes well. So if you have any final wishes for the map let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Looks like a good start. I would highly recommend getting the Bo1 Textures and models as it will make it alot more attractive and accurate than using the boring old WaW assets.

That redness is caused by having no reflection probes in your map. Also, make sure you have a "light grid volume" encompassing your entire map and a hollowed out "caulk" box with a sky texture on the inside faces. These thing help out with lighting greatly. And you need a skybox  ;)

(Also it looks like you have some missing images in your HUD)

Hopefully this remake does justice to the original Hanoi. As MZ said, BO1 textures and models are a good idea.

Might I suggest adding some new areas? Remakes don't have to be clones. :P

I'm making it to proper scale. Maybe some texture changes but mostly the same as real Hanoi

As requested I added some new playable areas. And don't worry. There will be more detail later.

As what comes to scripting I only have one part of the ee scripted and its not quite working. I'll start doing scripts after mapping.

After many weeks of struggle the map is finally at a playable condition. By that I mean all zones are working and zombies are moving/spawning correctly. Here are some new in-game images:

Stuff left do do:
-Finish scripting the easter egg.
-Fix ammo, damage and anims for some weapons.
-Add Pack a punched weapons.
-Add lots of detail!

Also I don't know what time of day the map should have. Your ideas would be appreciated.

+1, even though Hanoi was night time, it still would be nice to see some day/early morning maps going on. :P
Also, it would be nice to see zombie skin variations, maybe from sumpf or something. Goodluck with your map! Can't wait to play it when it releases.

Great! The daylight looks like a nice twist from the original map, but its up to you the time of day, but a really nice twist.

Also its awesome to hear the zombie model change!

Can't wait to play this map!

looking good mate. But I reckon you should stick to the Original style of Hanoi, of leaving it at night, because that really added to the feel of Hanoi. Also, I'm guessing these are Rorke's BO1 weapons?

Looking awesome, can't wait to see this map, Hanoi was one of my favourite all time maps so this'll be good, BO3 weapons may be easier to do now since mod tools are coming out for BO3 :P

I guess theres been a lot of night releases, but you're correct. If it is well lit, hopefully a nice warm type lighting.. Then let the sky be black, with some of those white spots and stuff...  :alone: :lol:

Very original PSG1 name, isn't it?

As for the mod progress:
-Mapping is pretty much done  :D
-Main EE scripting mainly finished  :D
-Most of the weapons still need upgraded versions.
-I might also try to make some extra stuff to the map (boss zombie, side quests, trolls etc.)

This will most likely be the last update to this WIP
Well after six months of developement this map is finally getting ready! Originally the release date was Sunday but I hit a game breaking issue where the map would crash if you shot a zombie. Fixing that took me a lot of time but everything is fine now. The release of DLC3 for BO3 has made me work really hard on this map as I want to get it done before the DLC drops.

The map will be released next week if I don't run into any problems. Still have to test this with more than 2 players.
Hopefully everything goes well and I can release this project to you awesome people at UGX ;)

Still can't open the files with Maya so can't really add them :(
Currently there is just one wonder weapon (part of the ee)+ ray gun. I can add in another if you like more WWs
