alright folks, here it is! nazi zombies on plague island.

fight off unlimited zombies on venice's most notorious haunted island: poveglia, where thousands and thousands of plague victims, and even healthy people were burnt in the panic of the black death. then home to a sanitarium, ran by a sadistic doctor early in the 20th century. Enjoy!

features:
black ops, mw2 and mw3 weapons, thanks to Rorke over at cfg factory
soul boxes, thanks Bluntstuffy!!
black ops 1 and 2 perks, thanks to Bamskater33
thanks to Tom Crowley for all of his tools
and thank you to RamboBadass for his solo start button tutorial

Known Bugs:
-electric cherry is purchasable even when 4 perk limit has been reached, not sure why
-reward weapon only shows up at first soul box location ( the one by staminup). however, the powerup reward appears at whichever soul box you fill up last.
-you may lose a weapon when using mule kick and picking up the soul box reward weapon. sorry :( not sure of the cause. other then that, mule is 100 percent operational

Any progress to post? Once you begin mapping you need to update your topic. If we see a completed map posted as the first progress update we cannot verify it was made for the contest.

hey thanks for the heads up..yeah ive began construction but havent compiled anything. however i do have a few photos of the real island..the layout is going to be exactly the same..i will have photos of the template up by this weekend.

just a tip, compile often

I spent weeks mapping once, then when i finally compiled, it failed. There was a ton of issues with it, and due to moving so far forward, it was easier to just drop the map than go through the extreme process of correcting my own mistakes ;)

yeah thatd be great, at least until i can make posts without moderation. and yeah i do compile often once i start creating entities and whatnot, but as far as just the mapping goes i pretty much know what im doing for the most part. my only concern is vert limit lol

lol honestly, entities or not, check

For me it was a brush i must have placed on day 1, somehow got mangled when i was working on something else to the point I found it about 60000 yards outside of my skybox only able to even render one of its 500 faces lol, barely found it if it wasnt for a dot on my 2d view i couldnt explain lol

geometry can cause compile errors too ;)

If you want, cant give you the knock down stuff or the ammo fx tho

You can directly upload the image to an image hosting site. Such as imgur http://imgur.com/ (http://imgur.com/)

Just drag n drop the image into imgur and copy the forum image link over to the page.

The carnage is real. It looks like the place you'd most like to hold down for the zombie apocalypse is a murder cult's mansion and surrounding property. Yikes!  :D

I love the map! I got set up with the scavenger and held out in the room with electric cherry. The only annoying thing though was the repeating bell sound, which made me want to mute my game sound after a while lol.

Yea, it's allowed. It will just be judged based on the way it is now. It's still ultimately your map  :)
I am having a good time on it. The atmosphere does feel very Zombie Army Trilogy.

Awesome map i'm digging the red sky although i think the animated PaP camo doesnt fit in, looks "amateur" if you know what i mean  :gusta: , maybe some mob of the dead like camos will make it look more polished  :-[ :)

all i did was replace materials in the weapon model files with mtl_zombie_teleporter_glow then changed the color of its iwi file in paint..took me a whole 20 minutes to do on all weapons :p

also, thank you :D i put alot into this, i know im pretty new with mapping, but i really did my best. if my stupid laptop hadnt crashed, itd have been alot better. this was rushed in three weeks to hit deadline

I liked the style of the mapping and sounds used. Removing round sounds was good idea, adds up to atmosphere imo :P

Didnt like mod though. Weapons are poor ports and Bams old perks were in use. Also, had lack of stuff to do in map. Get perks and guns and you are done
If you are going to update the map, add some kind of objective (more than soulboxes), then fix up weapons and perks and this could be very good map :)

So I finally got around to playing this (life's been super busy with finals and all), and I was compelled to write some praise about it. Against the other maps in the competition, this map may not have seemed like much, but in total honestly, you really captured the mood in this map very well. The idea behind it was incredibly intriguing (an abandoned island dedicated to disposing of bodies? Damn that's metal!), and the dark, blood-tinted atmosphere was very complimentary. Where it lacked in features, it most definitely made up for in captivation, and I wanted to congratulate you for making this (even if it was rushed). It felt like a true Zombies experience; you've done a very fine job!
