HIGH NOON

I don't know how many of you share my personal opinions on buried (It sucked) so why not give the western theme the map it deserves. Full on western ghost town invaded by zombies - out in open and not buried.  :gusta:


What you see below was done in a couple hours - so imagine what it will look like in a couple months.

I think that this is a great idea, and yes Buried sucked. It was too small and they put riser pits EVERYWHERE, and ontop of that the wonder weapon sucked. Cant wait to see how this turns out.

Im planning on going full on town - so medium sized map, maybe a mine if im feeling saucy - bright sunny day (subject to change if different atmosphere suits it better)

At first glance I'm thinking about having to search dead horses for hidden objects. Ladder to climb onto buildings for vertical fun (that's what she said).
Maybe like an objective that forces you to make an important choice half way through and that leads to one of two directions the story can take. Example: go one direction and a few steps later you find out that this was all your fault and you caused the outbreak because you're insane. Choose another path and you end up being the savior a few steps later.

Good ideas, maybe he could also make it so players need said items to get to perks and pack a punch, and I dont think i have ever seen a 2 sided ee in custom zombies. he could do something special with box, like make the player have to dig it up from the initial location.

Oh Stevie, you sly dog. I was thinking that, heck maybe that's where I got the idea from. I'm not saying that I had that map's loading screen made into bed sheets, or screen shots of the map wallpapering my room...nope, not saying that at all.

looks good so far, buried was an interesting concept, but didnt do much justice, this looks like the old western map we finally deserve, nice job

I count that one. i only ever did the one side though...couldnt stand the one announcer.

Actually, I thought they were easy as hell. If anything I was disappointed that they were too easy to be considered a boss, plus they drop perks. Dogs were harder to deal with than them.

no intentions of adding those - kinda thought they didnt really fit well in a zombies map to begin with.

The thing about the witches aswell is they didnt damage you as long as you had points (and face it, points were so easy to get on Buried) so you were technically invincible to them, as well as when they hit you you get given grenades and claymores...

But the map looks great so far! That building looks BO2 grade Treyarch done

too small? people like you are why we got tranzit. and the wonder weapon did not suck, it was just balanced. but vulture aid made it OP

People say it is the best because they got to round 50+ and think they are good, it isn't amazing to get a high round on that map. It is way to easy. If the bank and paralyzer wasn't there then it would be difficult.

Me too, I cannot find many custom zombie maps that have western themes.

It is from "The Big Lez Show". A youtube cartoon series by some aussies, really funny.

so let me get this straight, you going to make an above round Buried? sounds good to me, i personally liked the western setting of Buried, but found it too easy personally.

yea kinda, it will be a different layout, new building types - actual atmosphere that fits the western feel - that's what i think buried lacked, an open environment.

Anymore updates? This topic has been quiet for awhile.
Haven't even seen Hex comment on anything for a while it's like some of the good mappers/scripters are slowly disappearing..I mean Jbird went silent till the contest came back up and haven't even seen Pieman in a while to.

I started to work nights, and pieman was away on Summer vacation. I am not sure where Hex has gone off to, but I know that after working on Leviathan for an entire year the four of us were really exhausted from mapping.

Dude that freaking sucks same here my job recently went to 24 hours a day and since I'm off from college they decided to make me be the one to do 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM! Thanks for the reply btw.
