Title: Simple Mod Launcher
Post by: LeeIzaZombie on January 12, 2015, 02:57:13 pm
Hey guys, I decided to use my spare time to create a simple mod launcher for those who don't like opening the game to load a mod.

This program is very lightweight and serves one purpose, do not expect many options such as "developer 1" and such, I'll be making a separate mod launcher with a neat GUI and more advanced options.

Here is two screenshots of it's use:

This is the advanced mod launcher in it's WIP, clearly no options are added yet, but you get to see the GUI.

The WIP screenshot... Is that... Comic Sans? :mother:
Quick tip about UI design: Stick to clean fonts like the Segoe family (especially Segoe UI :3) for example. No one likes Comic Sans. :poker:

I don't remember what it was, I checked my font list in VS and I don't even have that font.  :poker:

Any who, here's an update:

I don't remember seeing one.
I would of expected that all of Ugx's apps would situate here: http://ugx-mods.com/forum/index.php?board=36.0 (http://ugx-mods.com/forum/index.php?board=36.0)

This allows you to launch any map via the tools option at the top.
This is going to be replaced by the UGX launcher which is currently in alpha for donors only, and it will allow you to launch any map you want as well as so many more features.

Oh well, my simple mod launcher is for to provide very fast access to launching mods, as the map manager would initially check for an internet connection, (if offline, an error pops up)

As for the Advanced mod launcher, it's providing the ability to launch with custom arguments along with the ones toggled by the interface and I'm currently working on (with friends) a map database so it can display information about your mod. (not just Ugx featured maps) Basically I want to provide easy access and to prevent the need for internet use to serve as an offline client.

Although I was not aware that there was a UGX launcher in the making, no point in just throwing away my project?

PS: Cheats will not be added to the arguments, respect for map makers would be fair.
