Title: Five Hours of Blood - Speed Map by josh1600 (Updated)

This is an attempt to make a map in just 5 hours, this will be a detailed and fun map to play, streaming the whole thing on twitch:
http://www.twitch.tv/ice_grenade (http://www.twitch.tv/ice_grenade) and then later uploading the video to youtube. Come watch me make the map from between 1.30pm to 6.30pm today GMT+0 (london time)

this is a test to see what I could accomplish in just 5 hours!


Note: I recorded the whole 4-5 hours of development and will be making and releasing the 5 hours of video on youtube... also will create a timelapse video of the 5 hours for you to see! ...I will update this thread when it's released!

Done quite alot on the bridge, just got bored of it for a bit... wanted to release a map... so I thought I'd challenge myself and build a map while being timed... this is the result...

this map was built in 4 hours 20 mins... plus 1 hour for compiling and mod building. the damn upload is stuck at 40%... so im uploading it to my server and getting a friend to put it on mega for me :)

So this was an exercise to prove to people that it's never a good idea to rush a map?
It was an exercise to see how much work I could do with a time constriction and that mapping is easy... it doesn't take very long to map if your good at mathematics and geometry.
Yeah, It's not a good idea to rush a map when your aiming for great quality.

3 main reasons to why I made this map:
1. A personal challenge for myself to see what I could get done in 5 hours when I put my mind to it!
2. The chance to release a new map for people to play!
3. Teaching people how to map (as I recorded the entire process and plan to make a 5hour long video (in parts) and also a speed timelapse)

On a side note, why is the whole map a horrible shade of red?

Because the Illuminati symbol is green and the map is called Five Hours of BLOOD  :nyan:

This creation puts ALL box 'maps' to shame - obviously I wouldn't recommend this fast turnover but the point is you can create something which is not 4 walls and some BS within a short amount of time

This is using 4hrs 52mins... The original release was 4hrs 22mins of work.

I know there is a zoning issue in the bowie room, but this can be temp fixed by buying the door... I may spend the last 8 mins fixing that.

Try out the latest version from the Mega link at the top, I will upload to mediafire later today when I'm at work (it would take years otherwise from my connection)

Just expand the starting zone there, so you will know that there is active zone.
And I agree with SarcyMofo, even if its not the greatest map, it proves that you can make more than just a box map without that much effort
