Title: Extreme lag with fog effects

My graphics card is able to run most maps fine on extreme but whenever i encounter fog effects (like the fire bullets on Requiem or alot of Project Viking) my fps drops sub-3 and i get a 1second lag. Is there any setting to fix this?

I'm running a 680m 2gb texture storage along side an i5 2.6ghz quad core. w7

r_fullbright 1 and fx_enable 0 are console commands to take into consideration
