Hello everyone, and welcome to the WIP topic for my second map, Winter Wunderland (yes, I named it after myself, I'm that self-centered). I have been working on this map for about a month now, and I just couldn't wait any longer to start showing it off!

-Fairly complex design
-Pretty good detail, if I do say so myself
-Custom HUD with custom font and actual numbers, thanks to Swazzy
-Electric traps, thanks to ADDICTED
-Custom textures (not too many at the moment)
-Mauser C96 (thanks to koene007 on CFGfactory & MrDunlop4)
-Some multiplayer weapons (Subject to Change)
-Who's Who! Fully working, Super thanks to RedSpace200. (I believe this is the second custom map to feature it after Cowman's Bridge, correct me if I'm wrong)

It's currently missing sounds and the knifing animation is messed up, but I'm working on that  :poker:

I'm planning to add several other weapons, including the Ballista, but they're kind of a pain in general to fix. Anyway, expect more updates very soon!

in general looks good, but playing a map with stock textures really ruins the experience (for me), at least try to change the wall texture and the light banish darkness for custom ones.

I need some suggestions for a wall texture inside a recently abandoned bar. I kind of wanted it to have the same feel as a cross between the Saloon from Buried and the bar from Kneipe Der Untoten, if you've ever played that map. Any ideas?

So far, no problems discovered with it (except that the Who's Who perk machine doesn't have a waypoint). Very excited to finally have it working in the map!

Also, I've installed BO2 on my PC so that i can port models from it. Expect to see some familiar BO2 models in my map very soon! Now to just buy the Downhill DLC...

Next order of business or at least very soon I will be completely re-terraining most of the outside of the map, as it looks pretty awful right now. Gonna watch some tuts on how to terrain better. Stay tuned for more updates!

Unfortunately you will have to remove vulture aid because it is broken in co-op for 2 reasons.
1.the player that bought it won't see the waypoints or ammo packs, but the 2nd player will
2.the zombies will continue to hit you when downed in co-op

Greeeeaaaat. Well I think Bam fixed the zombies hitting players while downed in coop bug but idk about that first one. I'll have to test in co-op sometime. Do you know if there's a fix for that?

In the process of adding some MP weapons, I got a 400 fx error that is being very annoyingly persistent. Map progress is currently put on hold until I can get some help and fix it :/

That bug where the zombies still hit the players while down in coop is NOT fixed. Also vulture aid causes the monkey bombs not to attract the zombies, they will still go after you even while a monkey has been thrown

Comment out fx you arnt using even where it says not to. (I think that's in mapname.gsc) or replAce default fx with yours.

Alright, FINALLY got my map back up and running from the fx error after like 4 days. Definitely stoked to be able to work again! Also, have some changes to the map:

Fully working sounds and anims! :D

Mauser now has the Colt's fire sounds, however it has no reload sounds. Those may not be included as I can't seem to get them to work.

Are there any other multiplayer weapons you would like to see in the map? Please comment!

Vulture Aid has been permanently removed from the map as multiple people have informed me that it doesn't work properly. Sorry to those who were looking forward to it, I'm trying to find a good perk to replace it.

Stay tuned everyone, I have a lot more cool new features coming up in the near future!

Mauser sounds have been fixed! Thanks to MrDunlop4 for giving me fixed ones, I just didn't know how to put them in for the longest time. Mauser will no longer have the Colt's sounds but it's own sounds!

Thanks to Rorke, I will be adding almost all BO1 weapons to this map providing I don't get any errors. Olympia and M14 have already been added so I've started on that.

TO DO IN THE NEAR FUTURE:
-Work on terraining outside the map to make it look sexaaaay
-Add the rest of the BO1 weapons
-Fix a few issues with terrain inside the map
-Port more stuff from Downhill (including models and possibly snow texture)
-After all that's done, continue working on bar area

i would say 2 looks better especially if lit and would be something different . hope you keep triple tap from 1st map and maybe hidden raygun sort of signature features . also wouldnt it b fun if hidden somewhere was grafiti saying hass sucks at zombies !

Map is going very nicely but I'm having a few major issues:

Mystery box isn't working correctly
Who's who dvar not resetting all of a sudden even though it worked before
Jukebox straight up not working at all

To do in the near future:

Fix the above issues
Add the rest of the BO weapons
Finish detailing
Start setting up easter egg

Finally, does anyone know where I could get the Winter's Howl? I think it would go really great in my map but I have no idea where to get the files for it.

Works perfectly. (Did Electric Cherry not have a jingle?)

Also fixed several bugs, including with the Mystery box (Thanks MakeCents!) and Who's Who dvar issues

Map isn't ready for release yet anyway but I will probably not be releasing it for a few months, since it is a snow map and I don't want it to get overshadowed by all the Christmas maps from the contest :P Gotta wait till the Christmas hype dies down

Works perfectly. (Did Electric Cherry not have a jingle?)

Also fixed several bugs, including with the Mystery box (Thanks MakeCents!) and Who's Who dvar issues

Map isn't ready for release yet anyway but I will probably not be releasing it for a few months, since it is a snow map and I don't want it to get overshadowed by all the Christmas maps from the contest :P Gotta wait till the Christmas hype dies down
There is a jingle as it is a MOTD perk, which had the severly morphed jingles

Just a friendly reminder, this map is not abandoned, dead, or cancelled. I haven't been making much progress lately because of a serious problem I've been having with the risers, and I'm working on getting help on it. A LOT still needs to be done on this map before it is ready for release, including the fixing of several persistent bugs I'm encountering. However I will still be working on it. Thanks for being patient everybody :)

Thanks for the support guys, I was convinced everyone had forgotten/stopped caring about this map but progress has been going very well  ;D

There's some cool textures on this map I see. Like the red velvet chairs and the generators. That's wunderful, Wunderful.  :troll:

Still a lot that needs to be done but it's getting close to being in Alpha stages ^_^ And yeah with school getting out at the beginning of next month I'll have a lot more time to work on it

I decided the ones I was originally using didn't fit the more rustic style of the map so I made these in photoshop today. It was a pain in the ass but I think they turned out awesome!

Been working on fixing bugs and putting the finishing touches on the map for the Beta. After on-and-off work for more than a year this map is finally nearing completion! :D

Those perk shaders look nice, well done! I think they'd be better if either they were more spread apart or are shown going down the left side of the screen (vertically), or both.
