This map looks ridiculously professional, and highly detailed. I also love the layout I can see in the zoomed out image. Have you ported over any custom weapons or perks yet?We have indeed ported models from Black Ops 2 over to the map, from Tranzit, Mob of the Dead and Origins. We do have all of the guns from Black ops 2, however we only plan on using some because we are still trying to go for the 1940's look. Along with that we have Vulture Aid, Electric Cherry and Wunder Fizz, however we are afraid some perks may have to be left out for file size reasons and errors while compiling. We cant wait to release the map to the public, but until then check back for updates on the map. Thanks for all the support and the compliment.

About 4 months have gone into the making of this map, so dont be expecting any of us at Fracture Studios to cancel the project.

At a point the map was 6 gigs. We have drastically lowered it to around 0.7 gigs but by release we will have it at a acceptable size. Considering the fact that over 2 gigs have been cut out of the map in about 24 hours it wont be too tough to make it lower ;). I wouldn't worry about the size right now since the map is just about half done.

Well if you had 5000 images and 'everything ported from BO2' how on Earth did you get the map to load??This is why we were having an error for about 2 weeks. We were over the model limit. This really should not be something to focus on. Most Black ops 2 images have been removed, we only needed some textures such as the lava and some mob of the dead models. I would rather you not comment on the gigantic map size and rather comment on what we could add to make the map better or things we should improve on. Thanks!

Sorry, but that is not something that can be avoided. The size of the map would obviously bring focus. No other map has ever breached the 1 gigabyte mark before, with JBirds maybe being the closest with 600+mb I believe.Like i said yet before compressed it is 500 mb but it can definitely be lowered more, dont worry about it, we got it all under control.

FS, if you guys need an extra voice/writer - ill gladly help out with the project. Im very good with ideas and story-line, as well as voice overs. If i could get some more info on the map backstory and character info, i can wip up 2 pages of story-line right off the bat! Yes some will have to model and animate. They may not look professional but its better than porting weapons.
Indeed they will all be custom modeled and animated. We will show a video of a weapon we have been working on that is a wonder weapon soon.

Like i said dont worry, we are really striving for this map to be as professional as possible. We will not tolerate any flaws in any custom animations of models. We do have a animator and a modeler but if anyone else seems interested contact us and we will be sure to find you a spot in our team!

I'm sure you can get the gun models from the gun, but I think the animations have to be custom made.
As for the sounds and "graphics", I don't know much about that.

Looks great, any features you currently know about?Oh dont worry! Their will be many features and EE's, as well as custom weapons and an assortment of perks, and a WHOLE lot of detail. Currently, we are working on ambient sounds and an interesting boss zombie and map objectives (also the map itself). We promise this map will be worth the wait! Are editor/director Henry, is working on a trailer for Celtic. And are mapper Jammy, is doing a wonderful job mapping out fun areas and a TON of detail. We do currently have a scripter, but I don't think I should announce who he is yet until he has done something for the map. But don't worry, he plans on doing some very nice things (we need a lot done...). The map is always being worked on in some way, and will most likely not be abandoned unless something CRITICAL happens. More on the way soon ;)!

This map looks freaking epic. Just by the pictures it looks like a huge map. Compared to BO or BO2 maps, is this map as big, or bigger, than any of them?The map is very big, it has 3 main levels - tunnels, subway, and surface. The size may be bigger than most BO2 maps. We do not plan on adding the fling contraption form COTD, but we do plan on adding the ziplines from COTD - so there will be thorough transportation. As for the boss, we may take this idea into consideration as the boss does play a big part to the main EE. ;)
Little idea. If you do have a boss zombie have some sort of health meter for it. Always great to know when the boss is almost dead.
One other thing. Think it would be possible to put the fling trap in this map from COTD? Loved that trap, also made easy transport too.
Very excited for this map. Know it will be a while before it is released, hopefully not to long though, but I am stoked for it.

So when people make remakes of maps they usually will know that they are a "X" percentage done with the map based on what they have done and what the (official) final product looks like. If we could go into the future and see what Celtic looks like when its competently done we could give you a solid percentage and a possible date of completion. However because that is not the case with this map we have no set date of completion. Ech, one map at a time everyone! I will say that we have made about 0.00001% of progress on this "Future project", we are in full focus on Celtic atm. And that the future maps being teased will not be touched until the planned ones are released... We MIGHT have something being released before Celtic to just stir up the crowd a bit, but no promises! ;)

Along with that we have been thinking about doing weekly polls. We were thinking that every Monday we have a new poll. You know, whether its a question, idea or concept we may want to add into the map. You guys vote, and on Sunday we release the results to the public. We feel this would really help make Celtic a better map in general, because we love feed back. So guys be looking forward to Monday because if we decide on going through with this idea there will be a new poll on the front page of Celtic Ruins. Not trying to beg for more pictures, but would it be ok if you could post another picture of another Pack-a-Punched weapon?It is not the final product, each texture for each paped weapon will be aligned and neat (are camo also glows and scrolls like ZK's cheese pap camo). Ill see if we can post another better looking pap version - but our co-gun porter/texture manager Tombone is on vacation atm. The new dev log should be out soon (Ik ik I forgot...) :) ;)

This map looks incredibly badass, will there be any new trailers soon on the way?Hopefully, in order to do a trailer - we need to finish mapping! Our mapper Jamie works on the map just about everyday, and it is detailed as hell (also huge)! We plan on releasing a series of trailers along the way (2-3) (cinematic, teaser, and release trailers). Patience is virtue, and we plan on having our channel active soon! ;)

Just a quick update :I think the darker scene with the light being generated by the lava gave a better atmosphere to the map than the late afternoon setting, that's just my opinion though.

Update:
Celtic is being heavily worked on by all of us at Fracture Studios. We have been working on terrain and background stuff, while our other team members are preparing the map to have all the wonderful features we plan to include. After completion of the mapping, we will then send our map to our zoner, then portaler to give everyone who plays this map the best experience (Even with a not so good computer). We have decided after roughly a year of working on the map that we really need to get it ready for release. We hope to have this map completed towards the end of December but until then we will start to supply trailers and game play for this map is getting close to done.
Details Regarding the map and features:
- Our new guns are almost done being animated.
- The easter egg is just about finalized
- We have made a list of everything we need for the final release for the map
- All of the features are just about done being scripted

Any new progress? :nyan:Not much, mostly because of Civil Nativity. But once that's done and over with, we will get right back into Celtic! Around January (hopefully when the mapping is done) we will be doing a months worth of perfection. Perfecting weapons, mapping detail, scripts (EE, perks, new WW, buildables, ext.), HUD elements, and those super tiny things that really make it feel like a DLC 5 for BO2. Things like this include; Rumbling barrier repairs, grenade impacts, zombie eye glow, getting the correct weapon when downed, new knifing anims, character quotes/grunts, re-doing PaP camo ext.) Literally everything will hopefully be perfect. We also need time to portal the map. A lot is planned to be done after the YAW contest, and we hope to finally get it out by February - March. We also want to make 3 very official trailers (teaser, cinematic, release). We have chosen the main EE song, and we are also implementing ambiance, which leads me to the following... Celtic will have its own personal sound track which will hopefully be up to download at release. Tracks include the main EE song, every ambient track in the map, the secret EE song, the remastered perk jingles (re-done perk jingles that sound scary af), the game over song, and the alternate end game song...
you guys should get Weezy428, jbird632, rambobadass and redspace200. that way the map would have even more AMAZING features, im not saying you guys arent great but imagine what you could achieve with their ideas, plus if you want the mustang and sally proper animations pap camo and moodel and the way it shoots ask redspace200 hes the ONLY guy to have made the mustang and sally work like in BO2. peace :rainbow:There is no point in doing this, Celtic already has enough features to please everyone. This map is not one of those maps that has a bunch of bosses and perks, nor things that don't belong in the map. It is not very hard to implement the Mustang & Sally, many have done it (we already plan to have it). Redspace has not achieved proper duel wield yet, and the only one who has is offthewall (so in that case, his M & S is not perfect). We also already have our own PaP camo planned. People such as JBird and Rambo are working on their own projects, and we do not need their help anyway (ideas is one of the main reasons im in FS). :)

Offthewall and Treminaor (and possibly Pieman) are the only people I am aware of who have successfully pulled that off, and if I am honest, it is not likely to ever be a permenant fixture in the World at War custom scene as it is simply too buggy. Could be wrong, but I don't think so.

I do not believe Pieman has it working, certainly his dual zap guns were not independent firing - he still did a good job thoughThey were independent firing(the ones from Christmas, and the Mustang and Sally from Swan), they just didn't animate at all, and they reloaded together. Indeed, Celtic's numerous amount of errors and semi-sloppy layout have been bugging us for a while now. We have 2 projects in the making and one that we plan to start in the future (After the the other two are done). Hopefully Celtic will be making a comeback with a fresh new .map and brand new layout, but this might not happen for a long time.

Unfortunately, we are not going to release Celtic Ruins any time soon :alone: The reason behind this is that our mapper (Sirjammy) is currently working on a new, fresh and an even better project than this. We are not sure if we are going to continue this project in the future. More info about this new exciting project will be released soon...

Hi all, so ray has pointed out that we can fix the material error without using t4m just need to lift all decals 0.25 units from the surface they are on, so the techsets arnt created and hence dont take up material slots, im adding the mod now, and changing the decals so it shouldn't be too long before release, thanksthats actually a smart idea, never thought of that
