Hi fellow members of the UGX forums. I'm working on a map with a friend of mine (Kampfschaf) at the moment and I figured I could post a WIP thread here. We're "Team 00" and it's our second map which is called "Anstalt der Untoten". Its layout is based on the Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia.

Note that the Flogger will not be included because of a layout change.

Some features not stated in the videos (list not quite complete):
- Random box will allow every person to grab the gun after some time
- Juggernog and Wunderwaffe will be "fixed" (I know it's not a real fix)
- Self-scripted buyable ending with objective(s)
- In addition to Second Chance in Solo, Quick Revive will grant you a longer bleedout time in Coop
- EDIT (almost forgot): Mule Kick perk is unlockable by completing an objective

This looks awesome - I'd love to help in any way that I can through the forums :) Feel free to post whenever you guys want to know how to do something - I love it when I see a map with as much potential as this one.

This looks really good Phil. Reminds me of a zombie map they had for CoD 4 for the zombie mod. The HUD also reminds me a bit of Hexen or Heretic. Lastly, health bar!? :gusta:

Sorry to tell you guys, but this map is put on a halt for an indefinite time since Kampfschaf lost interest. He'll send me the files, I'll try myself, but I'm probably (almost certainly) not any good at it. I'm certainly more of a scripter guy, so I'm basically lacking a mapper.

Mapping isn't a reason to stop work on a map. Just have to work at it and have a good direction for the overall theme and gameplay. Just get a beta ready and we'll let you know what needs to be done.

I improved Second Chance today, making it more like Black Ops. Zombies near you (within about 5m) will be killed, the others run away from you for some time. See for yourself:

Any chance you can release these perks so I can put them in my map?

Well, most of the stuff needs mdifications of the default dlc3 scripts, so I did my own little mod which contains all stuff. If I wanted to release a perk, I would have to "convert" it to use the default dlc3 scripts. I already did this with Mule Kick, the Death Machine and some powerups for some people, but it was a lot of work.

It took its time to get it all working on my machine. Now I've been busy updating all the stuff to fit the newest version of my scripts. I've tested it coop with some friends and besides a few flaws it worked pretty well, including the custom objectives. I got a todo list of many minor things and next up is probably portaling. Kampfschaf already did it, but I suspect he was a bit too generous by portaling every cell on its own. So I might remove some portals to only have every floor or hallway as an area. Since the basic layout is there, I'll start doing the gameplay objects such as wall weapons, objective stuff and so forth which might take a while as I'm new to this.
Besides, I am helping some other people with their maps (mostly scripting-wise of course ^^).

To give an update relating to my last post: Portaling is definitely something I can't wrap my mind around :( . However, I promise this map will be portaled before release, I just don't know how I will keep that promise...
Anyway, here's something nice:

Today I saw a BlOps 2 Zombies gameplay where somebody stored one of his weapons in a fridge. It reminded me that I made almost the same for this map a while ago, so I figured I'd go ahead and show you guys a video. The gun position is a bit weird and needs to be changed, but the rest is fully working.

And the background story to the map:
1942, during WWII.
The U.S. government got information about Germany's experiments with element 115. They launch their own program at the Eastern State Penitentiary, Philadelphia. They use the prisoners as test subjects.
Early 1944
More and more prisoners die. The researchers suspect element 115 to be the cause.
Early 1945
Almost all prisoners are dead because of the experiments. The prison is now a graveyard.
March 1945, 2 months before end of WWII.
The program is suddenly stopped by the government. The researchers leave the Eastern State.
1947, about one year after the events of "Der Riese".
Dr. Richtofen was finally able to find out where the USA experimented with element 115, as there are more and more reports about suspicious events. The team of four travels to the Eastern State, trying to prevent the inevitable.
