Title: computer shutoff
Post by: daedra descent on February 27, 2014, 01:49:22 am
about 10 minutes ago(from this post) my computer shutoff while at the same time my PS3 turned on to notify me that my trophy information have been uploaded to the cloud, so i think it would be safe to assume that the PS3 was the issue. But why exactly? If it was because of a lack of power then would the PS3 even start to begin with?

This isn't exactly the first time either. For whatever reason my PS3 has in the past turned on by itself when i wasn't even a PS3 member and has even caused my crappy laptop to shutoff for whatever reason... so i don't know. Would anyone else?

If your PS3 is causing other things to turn off then either your PS3 or the wall outlet is probably causing a surge that shuts off anything with surge protection that's plugged into the same circuit.

Try getting a power strip that has a surge protector in it like this: http://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-TLP606-Protector-Outlet/dp/B0000AI0N1/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1393468931&sr=8-1&keywords=power+strip (http://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-TLP606-Protector-Outlet/dp/B0000AI0N1/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1393468931&sr=8-1&keywords=power+strip)

Plug all of your electronics in it.

Your PC should be plugged into one as well.
