Title: Mod location on Ubuntu with Proton?
Post by: NefariousDrH on October 21, 2019, 11:55:00 pm
Hey guys!

Thought I'd come back to some of my favorite maps after a few years, but I'm currently only able to use WaW on a computer running Lubuntu 19. The game works just fine running the latest version of Proton on Steam, but I realized that these maps are installed with an .exe file...

Before I attempt to throw them into WINE, which I'm not entirely familiar with, I opened a map exe with an archive manager and found all of the files.

Does anybody know where the files are extracted to when you run a modded map's .exe?

It's okay if you only know where they're extracted on Windows, I can probably find the compat location with Steam.

Solved, after snooping around a bit!

I dragged the files into .steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/10090/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Local Settings/Application Data/Activision/CoDWaW/mods/, worked just as it always has. :)
