Title: [WIP] Greenhouse, Survive and Defuse. -Realism Mod 3.0-

Hello everyone, i'm new to the forum and what better way to say hello than to post my WIP. It's my first zombie map, but it's the second time i'm making it  ::) The first version became a total mess of all cool things i could find and make up and shoved then in the map...
Not good. I kept most of the layout, deleted EVERYTHING inside and started over. The restart was about 3 months ago and i first started mapping in januari this year. Now let's talk about the actual map! Like the name say's it's mostly taking
place inside completely see through greenhouse's. You can look (and shoot) through the walls and floors to help your buddies! I'm also creating my version of S&D for this map: Survive and Defuse...

Zombie S&D: SURVIVE AND DEFUSE... The rough storyline: You're part of a special response unit and arrived on the scene of a biological testing facility that has been a attacked by terrorist's. The place is rigged with several timed explosive's and it's up to your team to defuse them in time.. When you arrived at the site you immediatly noticed there was more going on.....

also added Five zombie's and other model's that suited the map (credit's to Bamskater33 for his tut!, and edited the model's myself a bit. I LOVED the 'zombies' (or mutant's......) from half-life with their creapy hands, so i went for that).

-Zombie Boss (doesn't stop rounds from changing, not affected by WW &  Instakill, no points rewarded for shooting him, ALWAYS A SLOW WALKER..)

first pic. a wall tv with the animated video screen from Bamskaters tutorial, the tv is rotating from left to right (thanks once more Phil for helping me out with your win scripts!)  and i'm going to try and make it 'useable'
- I've decided some of the bomb-site actually will blow up parts of the map when not defused in time (changing the route's) i've done some mapping for that (other pics)

There will be all sorts of weapons from WAW, BO, to custom ones. and there will be Multi-pap with buy-able wall ammo (for wall weapons, duh). Some random pics, allthough i'm not sure on the final selection yet.. I got most non-waw weapons online and animated them myself. will post some vids later on.. (most of these weapon pics are from the first mapping version, guns remain the same though..)

This is a pretty lame vid actually  :o, but it shows the idea's ive got for my costom wonder-weapon. The FN-Scar probably won't make it into the final version. The flintlock pistol centainly does!

So that's what keeping me up at night for the past few months, as you can see i'm nearly done. But unfortunatly i'm also
far from finished ;) i've got quite some stuff to add and detail and work out.. I'm guessing release would be somewhere next year, lol. I'm not going to guess anymore, since i've past my own deadline like 4 time's already.. When i'm happy with it, it's done!

Yay! i'm only registered for like 3 hours, and i've won an award already! lol, but thanks for the heads up. was kindoff expecting to have thumbnails on there. I resized them, so it's not that overwhelming..

It been quite a while since i've posted something, but i've actually did a lot of work. Most of it is script-related though so there isn't much changed in the map itself.. I decided to make a little vid showing some progress and some cool stuff (imo) ;) Not going to show everthing i've done though, since there's some EE related stuff. But i can assure you, i'm still very much working on this!
I've added my Multi PaP setup, with alt-weapons and buyable ammo for all versions without glitches (double-pap'ed guns being replaced  with stock versions, none of that). I've had that lying around from the first build of the map, thanks YaPhill (who else??) for telling me where to look for the functions, and basicly what to change!!
So that's all up and running and right now i'm making my weapon mod and i'm scripting secondary ammo type's. A little preview in the vid: (sorry for the lack of sound, i can't get it working when recording with afterburner..)

Excited to bring you another new feature for the map Nova crawlers! Thanks to Steviewonder87 for giving me the BO script and models, and also taking care of the FX and sounds for me!
They're fully functional atm, all there is left to do is some texture and animation details. Enjoy!
I'll do a more detailled update in about a week or so, with some new weapons and offcourse: more nova-crawler's  :)
Sorry for the even more poor quality of my vid than before, for some reason afterburner wouldn't cooperate so i had to switch sotware and that didn't work out to good..

Don't worry, there won't be to much of them. This is only the test-map, it has only nova-spawners in the start-zone..

He'll just spawn every few rounds, and there might be way to get rid of him  ;)

Thanks, glad you like it! I've still got a few surprises up my sleeve  ::) and it's taking so freaking long to finally finish this project that sometime's i just need to show something off  :D

Still working on the nova's. they will be a cross-over between the Kino and Moon nova's. Some of them can teleport, and some of them explode with the gas-cloud on death..

Nova Crawlers that can teleport... I will never play on this map.  :please:

Nova update:

Got everything working for the nova's atm, i spend quite some time to make them 'complete'. What i did:
-Nova's only spawn after the power is turned on
-They can walk down the Wall's (like Kino)
-I made traverse's for them, and edited the anim's so that they look different from normal zombie anim's. Both for jumping up and down.
-I edited every walk/run/sprint anim to animate their mouth's (looks SO MUCH better  8) )
-there's a max nr of nova's that can be alive at the same time
-they can spawn either as a teleporting nova ( moon style ), or as an gas-exploding nova ( kino style ). Not both at the same time.
-PHD Flopper will make you immune to the Nova gas (the gas explosion kills normal zombies but doesn't hurt other nova's btw)

I added the Mauser today, didn't had the animations for it so had to do them myself. Also the Boomhilda is made with a scope from the BO1 Python because i didn't had the actual upgraded-model  :'( . The PaP skin is the Ice-Fire skin from TheKillerey and is just perfect for this gun! Awesome skin, thanks! (skin can be donwloaded here:

unfortunately not a scrolling tex, but it has an spacy red reflection/glow going on. Pretty cool!

It look's even better now, after StevieWonder87 worked on it for a bit and took care of the details for me. Sweet! This gun is sooo sexy right now! I allready got a script set-up done. I had a pretty much ready to use version from my shock ammo, all i needed to do was make some small adjustments and figure out is how to get a bullet weapon with a tracer FX. And i also that working now! It's basicly an armor piercing projectile weapon!!  :)
Last thing to do is make some good looking FX for it, and then i'll post a vid of how it functions!

No it's not cancelled. I was hitting limit after limit at the time, and kinda struggled with the image limit. I was a bit fed up with being 'stuck' and put it on a low pitch for a while.. By now i know how to fix that propperly and i should be able to finish the mapping part ( wich is 90% done btw). Then i would have to fnish up the last part of the objective/EE and it's ready for testing.
I will get back to this one after 'project nova'...

Yep, that one is also still there and working. Dont have any specific plans for it atm though..

Resurrection! You said you were hitting limits, so does that mean this map will be using T4M to give you extra room? (Which I no opposition to unlike some people)
I could get the map to work within the limits, but with also adding the realism mod ( that contains a lot of stuff like BO3 guns, bosses etc ) it will need T4M for sure

The "water" is actually glass. The plants in this greenhouse don't get water only 115 polluted mutagen  ;D

I saw the OHM in action a while back, but I've never seen the LZ ported and/or used in WaW. On a side note, will wonder weapons be customizable, or will it be like BO3 where they're simply obtained and buffed by perks?

All "special Weapons" will be customizable as well, and can also be upgraded to increase their damage.

i may add a dual-wield as well, but not making any promisses

Now that NUK370WN and Industrial Estate have been released for the Realism Mod, it's time to get back to this map again and finish WaW once and for all..

Past days i worked on an underground area, a few pictures below. Basicly the entire map is mapped now, i will be going over some areas to detail/redo small stuff. I also need to finish adding the objectives and then the map should be good to go. Nothing defenitive, but i'd say around 2-4 weeks prob?

One of the best WaW modifications I have seen I must say.
I like it that you include the necessary details in your scripts BluntStuffy. For example the viewhand animations while planting a C4 charge, some detailed destructibles after blowing up a wall.. That really does the trick sometimes.

As for mapping you guys must have involve a year or more in the making of this map?
It's not only detailed but large in scale as well. And for 1-2 persons to do that, it would take loads of time.
A little suggestion; some more ambient FX would be cool?
You can give a really chill feel on your map by adding some smoke coming from rubble, dirt falling of destroyed ceilings, some more light FX on lanterns or a fire in a corner.  :)

Tomikaze if I understand you well, you find gameplay very important. I think that is also very important.
As long as you believe in your project, and if you keep testing and tweaking, you will succeed.  ;)


A recommended mod/map for WaW-players to check out and enjoy I must say!  :D

Only the second time I've been impressed with a map recently, with Stevie's (StevieWonder87) map making me feel like I need to get into the custom scene one again. Just finding it hard to find the time to warrant upgrading my rig to be able to fully accommodate BO3 at it's highest settings. I will get there... eventually.

Yea, gameplay has to be king in my book. Some maps look good and you only play them once and some maps don't look great but you find yourself coming back to them again and again. Sometimes people hit what maps zombies fun perfectly and that is what we're trying to do with this mod and the map, the visuals and the objectives.
