Title: WebRTS Closed Alpha (Bachelor Project by Delta)
Post by: Delta on February 16, 2017, 01:44:13 pm
Hey guys,

I would like to introduce my bachelor project here and also invite you to the closed alpha right now.

First of all - What is WebRTS?

WebRTS is a web browser real-time strategy game which plays on the real earth.
The game uses map data from Open Street Map and you could technically play on the whole planet.

(some more information is on the website, link / access is at the bottom)

My goal with this bachelor project is,
to evaluate if it's possible to create such a game with and if end users (players) would be interested in such product (game).

The goal of the closed alpha is to find out how well it performs - I have at the moment some performance issues and I want to find the bottlenecks of my code.

That's why I invite everyone to my closed alpha.

PLEASE NOTE:
This game / project is very early in development. You probably will notice performance issues / downtimes and so on.
I would appreciate it if don't try to "break the system" - give me and others a chance to play and improve the game :)

If you can't reach the website, try it later again. I will try to update & optimize it whenever I have time.
(my deadline is in two weeks and I still need to write my BA)

I think the game / website will be under heavy load soon x,x

If possible (and if you are interested into RTS games), be sure to get your friends as well.
I don't think the server is capable of many players at the same time (thats why I do this alpha stress test) - but maybe it works out for your group at the right time and you can enjoy a 4 vs 4 match.

If you have any questions, let me know =)
