This map can be downloaded from the UGX Map Manager.


Zombie Schmerz

My 3rd map.
After Zombie Folter i start this "project", this is like Zombie Folter, a small map with a winnable ending -> same as zombie folter, but i think its harder.


This is a small sized FUN map, i used to test my little experience at  modding.


-> No story for this

-> Map made: 4-5 Days



Map features:

- Only Black Ops 1 guns

- Ascension Power system

- 5 Perks (Quick revive, speedcola, double tap, jugger, stamin up)

- Winnable ending (after buy endgame trigger must survive for 10 rounds )

- Pack a Punch

- !!6 Shootable teddy's to open PaP and endgame!!

- Custom vision

- Small sized map

- Difficulty: Hard

- Little detail

- Changed fov

- Changed viewhands

- Glowing zombie eyes

- IMPORTANT: Jugger is fixed^^

- Zombie health little bit increase

- Dr. Phil's Ray gun

- Removed dogs

- UGX Jukebox with custom music

- UGX easy-fx

- New ammo counter hud!! (picture)

- Map packed in UGX installer..

You make these maps so quick and so fun at the same time!
I wish that I could have more time for mapping.

This map is very enjoyable in my opinion.

Only had a brief run on the map so far but I have to say... good job man. The detail is actually pretty decent, and the actual design is fun but tricky.

+1 for the BO2 shaders as well.  :)

...link removed..found a heavy game crashing bug.
if you have 2 weapons and you buy a perk, no drinking animation will be show and you cant do anything.
so if you have 1 weapon and buy a perk, the "default weapon" will show for a sec. and you have the perk and can play normal..

anyone know whats wrong with it?

I haven't downloaded the map or looked at your scripts, but I hope your ammo counter is not using setText() - you will crash the game if you use a weapon which has a high fire rate for more than a few seconds because you will overflow the HUD text buffer in the engine.

It shouldn't even be a HUD item but if it is, use setValue().

If you already worked around this then don't mind me :please:

After looking around for a little bit there isn't much I can complain about. Map looks great and has good features.

There are some suggestions/concerns I would like to talk about though.

For the easter egg I would make some sort of sign after you shoot each teddy like a sound or FX that specifies that you got it. As I sat there for about 15 minutes wondering if you made it sequential, ex:

I shouldn't be able to get on regardless of how minor it may look.

Also after retrieving the end game prize you didn't set switch weapon so you are left with an empty slot until you scroll the mouse. Small but still a bug.

Very last thing I would encourage you to add some doors as it's way too quick without any. I could get the whole easter egg done on round one.

Overall it's a cool little map that would be great on the manager. Has my approval as is but would be nice if you touched on what I posted.

@treminaor: i think my counter script is "clean", i played up to round 26 with the highest fire rated weapon and i dont use setText().

endgame: i think you mean the 5 sec. between trigger use and weapon give. it was with intension, after buy the trigger, you still have 5 sec's no weapons, then you get the ray gun.

hm..i dont really want doors, i think its hard enough with the sealed perks, boxes..but you're right with the "easter egg", its pretty easy to find..i think over it soon.

yes, i will be put sounds on the teddy's and clipping some more things in v.2.

i think v.2 i will upload in 2-3 day, because i dont have time yet..

Re-tested, my bad. Also something I wanted to point out is a lot of the black ops guns have issues. Such as for one all the assault rifles have duel mag reloads when the magazine is never exchanged. It's pretty much just flipping the same magazine around over and over again. The state timers are also really off with certain animations and also the reload ammo add timer. Pretty much meaning I have to wait till the very end of the animation for the ammo to be added rather than when the magazine is added or at least after the round is chambered. There are also no sprinting animations, but just that of the engine. The originals look much better in my opinion and the engine settings you have offset the weapon making it look much smaller. Something that you have to be careful about when thinking about FP animations is maintaining correct scale of the weapon within the viewport.

yes i know.
in my future maps i will be not use the black ops guns, cause i used this only to "test" myself.
i am only insert it and modify / repair the weapon files.
and i dont know about animation or something like this. all the weapons were packed ready to insert..
i know, its not perfect, but hey, dont judge me ..xD
maybe i will make a other version of the map with all standard weapons..i dont know.

Yeah the dual mag reloads make me think that you got the BO1 guns from FRD on ZM. These are WaW-ready but they have no normal reload anims included, only either dual mag or extended.
Still you made a pretty decent map in 5-6 days which is very impressive. I hope to see some more work from you ;)

This was a fun little map also, I think that makes you 2 for 2. Good job man! It looks good and plays well, the objective was ok. I think if it was a little more involved, maybe a few more steps that would be nice, but overall I had a good time  :)

Hey, I got a game breaking glitch. Sometimes, when I shoot a teddy bear It doesn't open a layer for the PaP and the "Hiding spot button or whatever it is called". When I shoot the one on top of the PaP room, it opens a layer. After I shoot any other teddy bears they don't react. Please fix it, it really sucks.

They don't move in order. I can shoot a teddy and have it move layer three, shoot another and have it move layer one. They don't move in sequence but if you shoot all bears in any order you please the door will open just fine.
