This is going to be my very first custom map. It shall be a remake of the town many of us all know and love from the massively multiplayer online game RuneScape; Lumbridge!
It will be a night time map.

This is an extremely early WIP, I do not expect to release it any time soon. Because if I do, it would be a horrible first map :alone:
However, I will continue to give updates on how it's going!

That's interesting, are you going to extend it and add the swamp and maybe parts of al kharid? Also are you shooting for rs3 or osrs.

It'll be an OSRS version. I'm not sure yet about doing the swamp, but I was going to go up until around the general store, the tree area behind and the 2 bridges.

Also, why do all my posts require approval? Can a mod or someone remove that please? And then also remove this post

It's an anti spam measure. Your post will require approval by a mod until you reach 20 posts. And no we will not remove it.

Find out more about it here: http://ugx-mods.com/forum/index.php/topic,4386.0.html (http://ugx-mods.com/forum/index.php/topic,4386.0.html)

Oh okay, and you basically did remove it by merging it with my earlier post

Best of luck to you, also you should replace the mind rune drops with money drops or even powerup drops.

Well I asked to remove the double post I made, not to remove the limit status on my account :P

Update: Unfortunately the lag with mod tools has gotten worse as I add more to the map. I am going to have to wait until the end of November(cyber monday) to continue working on the map. Will be ordering a decent rig for the first time in my life, if interested, here's the build as of now http://pcpartpicker.com/list/pmqWr7 (http://pcpartpicker.com/list/pmqWr7)

Try and squeeze an SSD in there, the tools really need fast storage and tbh it's probably best to have an SSD at least for your OS.

Ssd is a "benefit" not a "requirement"

I don't have one - works fine

I've tried it on a HDD, the difference is night and day. lol, models, etc. load much faster and a lot less stuttering.

Regardless getting such a nice build without an SSD is like using a micra's engine on a Ferrari.

Which is a nice "benefit" but not "required"

As I said I have no ssd - few extra seconds patience never hurt

Clearly it isn't the cause of his problems

Yeah actually I have an ssd that I just bought for this laptop that I have the tools, bo3, and my OS on, so will just be taking that out and putting it into the rig when the time comes. Thanks for the tip anyways :D

But yeah I can definitely say having an ssd compared to an hdd is amazing, it's a real improvement with stuff like boot times for the computer itself and all the programs, not to mention all of the model/texture previews loading faster.
