IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR MODDERS:
   DO NOT PACKAGE GAME_MOD WITH YOUR MOD – REFERENCE THE GITHUB DOWNLOAD LINK BELOW AND PROVIDE DOWNLOAD & INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS



game_mod is a special modification for Call of Duty: Black Ops that allows users to play custom maps, enables the developer console, adds a menu option to load mods, etc. developed by Nukem & myself.

Requirements:
   Call of Duty: Black Ops (Steam)
   Visual Studio 2013 Redistributable

You'd need maps to be available yet, this only enables support. The tools need to be compiled first before being able to make a map and they aren't finished yet. I believe this release was just for Project Thor as it requires LinkerMod to run. Eventually you'll have map support. Hang in there :P

I'm so glad people can finally make maps for BO1. Although the majority of people will be moving on to BO3 mods soon, at least in mean time people will be able to create some awesome maps on a much smoother engine than WaW.

Thank you for making this masterpiece, and I can't wait to see the maps made with this. :D

This mod allows you to play mods / maps similarly to how they worked in WAW, among other things.
The map tools aren't finished yet, so you can't make maps just yet.

You need radiant to make maps. And Radiant has been in BETA for quite a while now, so, no, no leviathan remake.

Had the same problem but i figured it out. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Black Ops and go to your Bin folder ( You have to have the Black ops mod tools ). There, right click on all .exe files and click on properties, select compability and set every .exe file to "run as administrator". Also do NOT run the BO_Mods file as administrator, because ( at least for me ) it doesn't work then.

In MP you have to put a / before the command so try that.

Yes - and assuming the command you typed is valid, pressing tab will automatically add the / to the beginning of it.

I like the tool the only thing im struggling with is the 2 unused bosses _zombiemode_ai_boss and _zombiemode_ai_ape in the files won't spawn in

You need to manually rip / convert the models and anims using Lemon and Lime, and then include them with your mod. I haven't really messed with the ape boss, but I know that the engineer one functions based on spawners & script structs which literally part of the map. To properly add boss support you'd have to edit the maps themselves which isn't really possible - the workaround (which I assume is what you're doing) would be to change the model & anims of a single zombie via script.

i tried to change thier spawn and kept the original for COTD and on COTD they work but spawn invisable and cant take damage

Project Thor was re-packaged to support game_mod natively, just follow the readme and you should be perfectly fine.

Samantha's Vengeance is still a legacy mod--so you can install this by tinkering a bit.

go into your mods folder, and create a new folder with the mod name, a la "Samantha's Vengeance".
after that, open the Zone and Main folders inside of the rar, and drag both of them into the new Samantha's Vengeance folder. rename the file "zombie_moon_patch.ff" to "mod.ff", and rename "iw_42.iwd" to "mod.iwd" [not necessary, but just to be safe, right?]

after that, your legacy mod should now be a selection option on the game_mod "Mods" menu.

aslo is there a way to make the .bik files work in the mod folder?

try putting it in the mod's folder in a video subfolder, i.e. Samantha's Vengeance\video

I tried it but it still means we need to replace gamefiles :(
but yeah mabey this is something what we can further test to find a way to have it still included LOL(as I having a way not to replace gamefiles  but I think there is no other way)

What he just described was adding the video to your mod, not modifying game files...

No if the mod created only applies under "mod.ff" (unlike when you recreate a patch file) it won't.

Not working for me, followed the steps, when the map is loading I get the "Project Thor" splash screen, then a Windows error sound & message, had to take picture on my phone as I couldn't even print screen after that.....any ideas?

Depending on other mods installed, you actually should delete the folder as well. Steams verify didn't work for some IWD's for me. Once I deleted my main folder and told it to verify again fixed the problem.

Ped078 I think you need to create a Folder called "mods" in the root of Black Ops and in there you create a folder which should have the name of your mod and in there you need place the mod file. This works for me! :)

Simpely put all the game_mod files in your bo root then make a folder called mods name a folder inside mods whatever put your project Thor iwd and ff rename both to mod

I get this error:

im not sure about protject thor just follow the instructions and it shold work. But nova six dosent have support for game_mod yet.

Yeah but radiant will be the same so I think it will be more popular then waw because it's on the newer virsion I Whold love to see awesome custom map for my favorite game

so have I? either make it fit in a shared way, or have multiple mods?

script changes are all thats needed for most, even then i made one script and used level.script == to check the map for things like placement or availability

anyone having issues with CSC scripts? I tried including _zombiemod.csc into my mod with game_mod installed and when I launch BO then select my mod during mod load up (not map loadup / loading screen the actual mod loading process) it crashes saying it cant find a bunch of zombiemode CSC's

I would expect a crash like this but during map loadup when the zombiemode scripts are called but i get the crash during the load up of the mod (on the main menu)

I think this is a issuse with game_mod because when I made BO mods the old way (replacing MAPNAME_patch.ff) CSC's worked fine

Hey I'm having some issues with the console. Whenever I use the ~ key it opens but whenever I enter the commands it just puts it in the text chat. Any help with that.

So I'm making so mods via Black Ops Mod Tools, and my mods will load to this menu also. Sick as hell, although they are missing a few features, that might just be my fault.

Any information about Radiant yet? This looks promising and if we can make own maps... that would be awesome!
