They didn't really advertise it properly, but it can be found in _prefabs/domestic/misc/asylum_mp_jam.
Seems to be more like the multiplayer map Asylum but both use the same base.
Verrückt mapfile came with the mod tools so techically you could create your own version of it. It's not a 1-1 zombie version of verrückt but the basic layout is there.
Other than that I agree with you. Best is to take your time and learn as you do. If you need help, there are some tutorials on Youtube ranging from simple geometry to advanced map editing. Another good tip is to find reference pictures. Find some images from Google or go in game and explore.
As for how long making a map takes, my WaW maps took about 4-6 months on and off (I've made 3 maps). This time included mapping as well as scripting and weapon porting. The current one I'm working on has taken close to 2 years (hopefully that doesn't scare you away, lol). If you plan on using an existing mapfile as a base, you can get things done quicker. The longer you work on a map the better it will be.
Hello, so I've been kinda debating on whether or not I should make a zombies map...well, not really make, more of an edit.
I was thinking of taking the original Verruckt map and adding some things into it like some multiplayer weapons and opening the map up a bit, creating new areas to run around in, as well as add the pack a punch.
I don't have much experience with modding or programing, so that's why i came here to ask the community about some tips and also how long it would take to do this map edit.
Any advice would be appreaciated!

Hello if anyone could help be create fog I would be very grateful, ive looked through all the past topics on this site about it, with the mapname_art thing, and the the cod5 wiki tutorial, and various other posts, but i cant seem to make it work. I want to make fog around my map but not in the middle to hide the undetailed surroundings. Anyhelp would be amazing, im really bad with scripting idk what to do
I have bombed I am pretty sure every inch of this map and haven't found that third bear. This lowkey hurts. Overall, this is a really good map and I can see me and my friend playing it! It's nice and rather small, isn't too tough but not extremely easy. Definitely would give a try. (Wish I knew how to make a map)

It's a fun map, that's for sure.
I just can't find a way to get through the door to the pack a punch.
Visually, the map looks great! (although a bit boxy). this boxyness could easily be changed for future maps by adding differences in elevation and having more outdoor areas. However, there are a few lighting bugs along some of the walls that can be fixed very easily.
Gameplay, the placement of the mystery box and especially the buyable ending was pretty underwhelming. Having the buyable ending near the beginning of the map kind of ruins the anticipation and the curiosity for exploration of the rest of the map (same with the mystery box). Also having objectives in order to access the buyable ending too would be a good gameplay feature to add. Although others may disagree with me on this, I dislike the open area at the start of the level, it makes training zombies and the difficulty of the map far too easy (although this map is made tougher by the sprinting zombies, which I approve of.)
Overall, great map! Looking forward to any improvements made to this map!
