thanks to this tool I found out how engine handles subtitles :D;)

Meh, that system for subtitles that the game has sucks. Mine is a lot better xDIt may be basic but it doesn't necessarily suck. It allows you to display subtitles just by calling a soundalias that is paired with the dialogue. I would assume it also doesn't take up a hudelem since it's cg-drawn. If you use your own system (assuming you don't use iPrintLns), you are taking up hudelems with the text and you can only have a certain amount drawn on screen at a time.

I'm just too worried about sound and string asset space.
For chaos mode I ran into an issue where if I had 8 perk icons plus the 3 score displays and the combo progressbar some of the elems would disappear or flicker because I was over the hudelem limit. So what I'm getting at is if you were in a similar situation you would not want your subtitles to disappear because of this issue, which could be an advantage of using these subtitles.
you can add a option to set the default root folder, becuase it give me error when i try to set it.The program takes the root folder specified in the registry folder for the game. If it is not set properly that isn't the fault of the program. It can be changed by opening the registry editor and navigating to the directory:
this is my root folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty - World at War"

"Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Activision\Call of Duty WAW" and changing the key "InstallPath" to the correct directory. If there is no folder specified then the program should ask you for a default folder. If you could further explain your issue it might better help towards a solution.
Yeah, for some reason the AliasEditor duplicates some of the alias lines, causing errors ex:Found this bug yesterday when investigating a different one. Currently working on some crash fixes while saving files that have alias lines removed - then I will release an update that fixes this problem and other crashes.
(The same info is duplicated on the line).
Another lil issue for me is i cant get my Maverick weapon file to save... im going to make a new one like you said once before maybe it is corruptedThis is the AliasEditor topic, I'm guessing you meant to post in the WeaponsEditor topic...
can i open directly an audio file from that?Do you mean having a "Browse" button for the file setting of an alias?
nope I mean if there is a chance to hear an audio file directly from the program without search it in the foldersI could implement that but for people that are searching through Treyarch's soundaliases, 90% of the sounds are still in FFs or IWDs, inaccessible to a simple program like this. Would be too much work for me.
Would this program work for adding weapon aliases? It should, but I would make backups first. It's still an early beta and I have not had any time to visit the reported crashes.

Do i need to set all of the values for a weapon alias or are there specific ones i need?Open an existing file containing weapon aliases, save it as a new file, then open the new file for editing.

Thanks for the help.Yes, like I mentioned earlier I have already gotten crash reports from people and have not had time to fix them. I have a version on my computer currently that has some of the issues fixed but it is not finished yet.
P.S. I don't know if its a big deal or not, but i got an unhandled except with the program:
Edit: I can't click on a sound alias without this error showing up.
The COD4 common.csv doesn't work o_OCoD4 is not fully supported because it has different names for some of the settings and certain settings which CoD5 does not have at all.
anyone have any idea what this means? ERROR: no files for filespec? its driving me crazy! What are you trying to open?
It's the zm_vox.csv. after saving and compiling I receive rhat error for every single sound listed in the .csv. I don't know if it's the editor or some other issueI would venture a guess that it's not going to work with BO3. I don't have time to update it and not enough people seemed to use this program to justify me upkeeping it unfortunately.

To specify this is a bo3 aluas. I know this isn't fully functional with bo3, but this seemed simple enough
The application doesn't even work. As soon as I make a brand new Alias with the app, it then makes up some error as to not let me do anything. And then it wont even save or anything.I suggest starting with a working soundalias file and adding new entries. If you didn't notice from the first post the program was not developed very far and some features are experimental or untested. The most time was spent on editing existing alias files and even that has bugs.
