Set your feet to the solid grounds of Paris to unfold its mysteries. Will you find your way or will you perish in the darkness?

What do you get when you combine a well-known standalone mod maker, a level designer who was behind creation of Rainy Death and Project Contamination, maker behind popular Nova Six-series, and Black Ops 1 Radiant? A Paris-themed map with high quality features and unique ambience.

We as a team want to bring an authentic zombies feel to Perish, as if it belonged with the other maps already in Black Ops 1.

In terms of the gameplay and level design, we are drawing upon inspiration from Kino, Moon, and Origins while mixing some Black Ops 3 elements to make a balanced feel between what is just normal gameplay and objective-focused.

Special thanks to SE2DEV for making this project possible in the first place.
Also thanks to Harry Bo21 for scripting work he did that was implemented.

Features:
-Fully non-Black Ops 1 weaponry, such as some World War 2, Infinite Warfare, Modern Warfare Remastered, Killing Floor 2 and Payday 2 weapons
-Black Ops 3 characters to play as
-New enemies, Buildables, Time Trials, Dig Sites and more
-Ten perks with one being something special...
-In-depth main Easter Egg and various smaller ones lying around

This looks seriously cool, Never thought id see a custom BO1 map, but here we are :) amazing
Itll be good to play a custom map with the smoothness of BO1 zombies, as there are some things in WaW that no mod can fix, that Bo1 did (the grabbing, zombie hitboxes, etc)

I was very excited to showcase this WIP, as I have been working on it this past month, but yet again, few people made me disappointed with their complains through chat/PM

I'm a bit confused here, is this a custom map in WaW, that you want to feel like a BO1 map as much as possible? Or a custom map for BO1 although Radiant was never released for it?

This is Black Ops 1 custom map. SE2DEV has been getting Radiant to work on it for few years now

Not knocking SE2DEV's amazing work (because what he's done is truly amazing), but if he's had Radiant working for 'a few years now' why has he left it this late to release this (well it's still not even released technically), especially since BO3 mod tools are right round the corner? If he had released this a year or 2 ago it would have been a complete game changer, seems almost like a waste at this point.

Side note, is this project likely be finished before BO3 tools come out?

He has been working on it for few years, but hasnt finished it fully yet. And we are aiming for map to be finished before tools

I think this is very good, because, not all people can run BO3... And BO3 is not good optimized, so, i think like the 60% of the custom zombies community will stay in BO1 New custom maps. WaW will be abandoned...

Seems rather pointless IMO. BO3 tools will be coming out so why would anyone go to BO1?

Besides Radiant and asset importing we still don't know what the BO3 tools are capable of or how restrictive they'll be.

You clearly don't know how to drink piss properly.

MAK's Memaw's Famous Recipe For Piss Cocktails
Ingredients:

So far I've been working on the first set of weapons along with a modification to the Pack-a-Punch machine that allows for a camo system similar to Der Eisendrache where a random camo is given upon upgrade.

Currently complete and near finished weapons are:

Very nice indeed Rollon. Shame I don't have BO1 on PC so I probably won't get to play this map. Your camos turned out a lot nicer than the 'Dark Matter' attempt you tried in BO1. :P

Agreed. I never did figure out a way to get it working in the end and much preferred the way this one came out thanks to BO1's special material settings.

Recently SE2Dev improved BO1's mod tools, made a variation of WaW's radiant to support BO1, and changed BO1's interfaces to include the ability to load mods in SP. It's called Game_mod.

Currently the Radiant part of it is not released as it's still in beta, but it's getting there :)

At the moment the Ranger doesn't have that ability, but I remember being told that it should be possible. As for the M1887's, I realized that I forgot to fix that after uploading the video >.>

We did some porting with Rollon and I guess its going in the map :P (He was testing in MP for some reason, lol)

People will still play this even if bo3 tools come out. Bo1 tools would give bo3 tools a run for their money considering bo3 tools might have stupid restrictions on what is/isnt possible with maya etc.

They are doing the modtools partly because zombies stops. And now there come modtools and people can still play.
And ofcourse there will be restrictions. Probably there will be even DLC for it. It's typical.

Okay, so this is how things are right now:
Rollon is too busy with school, work and BO3 mod tools that he doesnt have anymore time to work on Perish.
Harry decided to leave the project because some of the stuff he was working on was suggested to be cut by me so the map could be finished faster (which is understandable, Im not mad at him for leaving)
I have school starting in 2.5 weeks, so I will busy as well + issues with real life that I need to work on as well.
So, we have three options: Either be delayed for good months of time, release without as many features as planned or cancelled. I really dont want to cancel or delay this map, so I guess I will just try to get it done.
Rollon is uploading his version of mod tools atm, so it would be up to me to compile, fix assets and so on, but we shall see if I can to be honest.

I think I can handle. Turns out most of my classes in school are through Internet, so I can even work on the map while sitting in class, yay. We also have very good Beta Group, which we picked months ago

Been approx. two months since last map update, seesh. Heres a small list of what is being worked on:

-Boss has been implemented (even though it uses existing boss assets, the idea as a whole is never before seen)
-About half of EE is scripted
-Few more guns need to be added and then we have full set of weapons ready to go
-Few smaller features have been added to fill up the map a bit

And yeah, there were a lot of nice looking WIPs in WaW. Shame to see some people didnt want to finish them before hopping on BO3 hypetrain. Oh well, their decision, not ours

You are not removed from credits, no. Credits will be given on release + I attend University atm which wanted me to rush this map, yet I neglect even that to work on this... + If you mean Redspace was the other scripter, he was just supposed to help with something else, never was replacing you

That is right. Due to those reasons, I took about month long break from this map almost completely and worked on UGX Azrael. After releasing Azrael, I said fuck it and restructured a lot of areas I was not happy with. After couple of days redoing stuff, I can say I am happy again with the map now and want to finish it. You guys keep me working on this since I have gotten so much good feedback opposed to bad from you <3 I will redo few more areas and then focusing on finishing rest of features

Unfortunately, I don't know yet.
Fortunately, I can say that we are at the end. I am at the moment waiting for some animations and some voice lines. When those are added, Squid and I will go hams getting last thing done in the map and then it is done!

% isn't connected with time really, it is connected with how much left to do. There are two things that need to be done and that is why it is at 98%. I am pissed as well that it has taken so long, but hey, it will hopefully be worth it in the end.

I would say after Chronicles release, not finished yet and if it got finished before ZC release, it would hurt Perish release so not good idea imo. And no BO3 Thundergun, got something that every player can get 8)

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add the flamethrower to the map? I've been hoping for a gun mod for the flamethrower in Black Ops 1 and we haven't seen any yet. If you could port it to this map (and maybe black ops 1 in general?), I would love you all forever.
Also, could we get the choice to play as the origins crew or the 1.0 crew? I tend to like the old quotes more, so a choice would be greatly appreciated :D

Its going to be a separate map (I highly bet) so my best guess this that you are going to need to install game_mod where you can open bo1 with the custom map included

No DLCs required, you only need game_mod version that is current one on release day

I did say after release, so can be any day after release /shrug
Hopefully soon finished though, just that I keep getting stuck on BO1 issues since you know, SE2Dev's/Nukem's tools are still being worked on and I am basically testing most of the stuff out and reporting issues. Like those stupid color spots in map where there can be bright blue round spot on a ceiling...

There has been few Alphas, one even got leaked by someone and I still hear about it time to time. But yeah, testing has been done and will be done more before release, not releasing untested work, lol

Thanks guys 👏 Working on new loadingscreen at the moment, stuff left to do is very minimal so I am aiming to finish them this week. Next monday I will be going to Japan for 1.5 weeks, so can't work on it while there, but I hope LilRobot can finish bossfight while I am gone. Then it is just matter of testing for bugs and release. So I am looking at whole thing being finished next month.

This map has been one hell of a development hell from the start. While it may not be the most advanced map there is, it is my blood, sweat and tears. This is my last project for older CoDs and will move onto Black Ops 3 almost fully as I feel mapping there isn't almost full roadblock like in BO1. I appreciate everyone who has been there despite my fuck ups in the past, whether it was due to this map or previous projects.

I will hopefully update you guys before I leave next monday 🙏

I think I will manage to get testers playable Beta before I go, but before or after it, I might need to do bunch of script rewriting/replacing, including full features. Been fixing errors for few days now and to get maximum optimization, some features might need to go completely. But the features that might go are pretty much stuff that make players too OP and/or most prone to erroring out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To be fair, some state timers are not official as they have been done "better" than respective games did, for example MP40 in Origins having too late Reload Add times ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But yeah, most stuff should be fine

I get less comments about it nowadays since I haven't posted major updates recently, due to being burned out by the map almost completely. Development has been painful from the start so I am surprised I am so burned out year and a half later and not earlier. The map is not cancelled, people still are waiting for it and are hyped, all is good.

Im still checking this post everyday. The hype is real.

I think that you have to be more patient. I understand you very well, but if the map would be released now you wouldnt play it for long. I know waiting sucks. And you should understand that this is hard to make.

It is not 100% yet, missing that 1%, lol. Anywhos, development has been really slow recently as I work with other people a lot on separate projects and tbh, I enjoy working on those more than this map due to all negativity revolving around it. + I hate to always say this, but waiting on assets. I need one new perk machine which is almost done, jingle for it (friend and I are working on it time to time), stats system so I can implement some cool stuff and ending fully fleshed out. If I could release the map now, I would, just so I can get away from everything that is caused by this map

No no no, not here. Happened in other places mostly. Appreciate it though. I will try to get the map done soon as University started few hours ago (One course came online, so my summer vacation has ended) Need to concentrate on studies more than last year definitely

Showing me mapping would be same as WaW, lol. Main part was done by SE2Dev and Nukem, which was porting WaW stuff and rewriting some to work with BO1

He helps me time to time with scripting when I ask for help so he is kinda working on map. We have almost finished the finale of Easter Egg, but we will see, if it will get extended /shrug

Testing, polishing and waiting for two things that I could have fast, if I buggered people enough ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also, for two months lighting has been broken a bit, but finally found issue so got that fixed. Been just polishing areas and existing stuff while at it so it is as good experience as possible. Here, have a shot of a reworked bit in an area:

Kind of gives me Der Eisendrache + Origins + Moon vibes, but it does look good, hope the map (AND easter eggs are better)

Well.COD7 MOD Tools Alpha doesn't have RADIANT (Map Maker).Uh,how do you make maps?Do you have RADIANT?I do not have RADIANT.

Omg this looks soooo good  :rainbow: the 99.9% is killing me, i just hope i can play this without lag as stock bo1 maps only run at about 25-30fps on my terrible pc  :'( ;D

Whenever SE2Dev has his SSD issue fixed, which he might have gotten working today, so maybe soon, no idea.
Modified WaW Radiant to work in BO1 + bunch of other new DLL and other files, done by SE2Dev and Nukem

Few weeks ago figured out fix for major dog pathing issue so now they should work way better in map, nothing else really, still waiting for Dev.
